IT might not be the best Bond film but the music for Moonraker by Yorkshire-born composer John Barry is out of this world.
Thirty six years after Roger Moore saved the world from baddies Hugo Drax and Jaws, fans of the late John Barrys work are banding together to raise £25,000 for the entire film score to be re-recorded by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

Holly Goodhead was one of the best Bond girl character names.
That was my favorite too.
I watched “Dr. No” again just a few days ago on a DVD set my daughter gave me.
The very recognizable Bond theme was on that first movie and I guess on all since.

“The very recognizable Bond theme was on that first movie and I guess on all since.”
It barely shows up in the first Daniel Craig Bond film (Casino Royal, right?) - and only as a part of other tracks.
It is in the ending credits.
“It is in the ending credits.”

Despite having such characters as “Plenty O’Toole” and “Pussy Galore”, Fleming never used four letter words in his novels.
I saw an interview, a very old one in which he was asked why. He at first joked that his Scottish forebears would not have liked it but then just said that he did not like swear words in writing.
Yes he does, Pussy Galore is in the novel Goldfinger.
Go back and read my post, slowly this time.
The guy was amazing — right up there with Ennio Morricone and Basil Pouledouris for great composers in the 2nd half of the 20th century.
