(CNN) - The Twitter account for U.S. Central Command was suspended Monday after it was hacked by ISIS sympathizers, a defense official told CNN.
"We can confirm that the U.S. Central Command Twitter account was compromised earlier today. CENTCOM is taking appropriate measure to address the matter," a defense official told CNN.
A series of unusual tweets were published with apparent warnings from ISIS, as well as links, images and Pentagon documents that reveal contact information for members of the military.

Well, THIS is going to be a real morale booster.
Now, if these hackers could work their same magic on the social media of the inner circle of the Current Regime now squatting in the White Hut, maybe that would stir some activity to really get to the root of all this infiltration.
It sounds worse than it is. The didn’t hack anybody but twitter. And who knows if it was hacked and not simply given to them by a confederate.
I guess Anonymous isn’t doing their job like they said they would.
Question ..... Who’s the genius that thought Centcom having a Twitter AND Facebook AND YouTube accounts was a good idea?

It's an inside job to control the Internet, Drudge, Free Republic, etc...
Look at the timing of this. It's right before the President is about to give a speech on why the Internet needs to be controlled. He now has his perfect excuse....
Again think of the timing, then think of fast and furious and think of Benghazi.
Oh and notice how this never happens on the Weekends when the government employees are at home watching football.
Unfortunately, it is the modern political battle field with the Left.
It would be like a secret service detail awakening after being drugged and discovering that their panties are missing. Then everyone gets all outraged over this dastardly act of espionage, instead of asking exactly why secret service agents are wearing women’s undergarments in the first place.
Why wouldn't they have a Twitter account?
Why does the military have a Twitter account?
Why wouldn’t they have a social media presence? Or are you actually supposing they post their OPLANs on FB?
I could see them having a fictitious named person to be able to track the bad guys, but other then that, I can't see the value of having one.
I really don't think they would get into a Tweet Battle like the ones we read about on a daily basis.
GCCs are political animals just as much as military ones. Social media enables them to advertise their awesomeness and their beneficial use of taxpayer dollars to maintain world peace. Public transparency is practiced from the BCT level up. It’s just how things are. Otherwise they’re shadowy organizations that suck in dollars for unknown purposes. Even the CIA and NSA have social media presences.
