Sadly, Swordmaker is right. The days when kids smashed their Beatles albums because John Lennon noted the Beatles were more popular than Jesus are long over. (Of course, he was correct, in the teenage demographic who know who the Beatles were, but that's beside the point...)
And sadly, that's why Apple probably WON'T pull the ad. It would draw more attention to their error. They'll just let it die a natural death.
Humans haven't changed their innate instincts in just half a century. People still get angry when their personal convictions are insulted. And today, their anger travels a lot faster, due to the internet and social media.
Perhaps we won't see hundreds of YouTube videos of people pitching their Apple computers, but something this hurtful is bound to draw a response from the public.
How big a response? Who knows, but one thing is certain -- if they were bold enough (or dumb enough) to insult so many of their loyal customers with this ad, they'll do it again. Especially if the public response is tepid or negligible.
