When Seacrest calls her name, she bolts to the stage, leaving her BFFs in the dust. Sings a Michael Jackson song I never heard of. "I Wanna Be There." It's okay.
Jlo : I really enjoyed that. You made me smile. You really have something. An innate talent.
Harry : There's been a high, high bar set so far. I believe you may have nudged that bar up a little bit higher.
Keith : This Motown catalog is like the luckiest thing for everyone, for you , for us.

I think she did a goof job.
The point about not doing runs that don’t fit her was on point.
She instead decided to just hit the notes — others should learn from her.

To everyone's surprise--including herself--Blonde Maddie is called to the stage. She sings "I'll Be There".
Harry : You deserve to be here. (hair splits her technique)
Keith : Good choice for you. There's some runs in that song that you didn't do, and you shouldn't.
Jlo : Really difficult song to sing, but still did a really good job.
Maddie confesses this is her first time singing Motown ever. The hell you say.

Agree. I think she sounded good, not great but enjoyable to listen too.
Also think matching Jackson’s emotional delivery in that song would be tough for even a seasoned pro

Empire popped on with such action I couldn’t look away fast enough. Now it’s on. Everyone is screaming. I know, it was on before I could change the channel. They should rename it to "That Screaming Woman".
