Watching local coverage of Detective Wenjian Liu's funeral. NBC reporter mentioned dozen of officers in front of the church turned their backs when De Blasio spoke but further down the road there were hundreds who turned their back.
I like it! They could use the caveat unless the Dem comes out in full support for police. They might actually get some support around the country from vulnerable Dems.
In this country, nobody gets respect by pulling rank. Like Lindsey during the 1968 transit strike - “I’m the Mayor. I’m the Mayor. I deserve respect.”
So de Blasio tells his Police Commissioner to order the officers to respect him. How pathetic.

there was a meeting of the “minds” between the PBA (police union) and de Blasio earlier this week that went nowhere...my dollar to your doughnut that POS de blasio was defiant to the end and refused to apologize...

How many people here knew that Eric Garner, the fat dude who had a heart attack after being arrested for selling illegal cigarettes which led to mass protests and police assaults and the execution of two cops all sanctioned and encouraged by the President of the USA down to the Mayor of NYC, was arrested 30 times since 1980?
