WALTHAM, Mass. - A suburban Boston man is accused of killing his wife during an argument over a Christmas gift, reports CBS Boston.
Julio Resto, 51, pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges in Waltham District Court Wednesday afternoon in the death of his wife, 42-year-old Gloria Resto. He was ordered held without bail.
Police say Resto first tried to strangle his wife and then stabbed her with a kitchen knife in their apartment in Waltham early Wednesday morning.
Julio told police his wife was upset with him because he did not buy her a Christmas gift, reports the station.

eye ties generally don’t go that kind of nuts
As Paul Harvey would say...
“Now you know the Resto the story.”
Not that it matters, but were they both Soccer Coaches, or were they one of those couples who try to dress like twins whenever they can? The marriage must have already been shaky for such a minor tiff to spin out of control. That, or he’s a drug/ alcohol user who gets mean when he gets high/ drunk.
LOL! I guess that would have been better than the way things turned out.
Actually, this guy at least showed some remorse.

Actually, no, he didn’t..
What he did do was typical of wife beaters..
this was not his first go around with abusing his wife..
He knew he would be discovered so he went straight to looking for sympathy for HIMSELF, and not her..
His behavior was typically bizarre..
Poor lil me, me, me..
If she was alive he would have somehow made it look like he was the one attacked and he had been “defending” his 6 foot 200 pound self against her 5 foot 2 110 pounds...
wife beaters could win Academy Awards for their acting...
and the ways they manage to slither out of responsibility..
Its usually always “her fault” she was beaten..
yeah. :)
all i know is when your spouse stabs you, it’s pretty much over.
Me and Julio, down in the jail yard.
Alcohol consumption.
He picked up a knife, and yelled “Here - take THIS you ungrateful bit@@” as he plunged it into her. (Well - that’s how I would write the script anyways.)
Some questions.
Was alcohol involved?
Did he buy her something last year? What was her reaction?
Was this the first incident of domestic violence?
Was Julio's lack of impulse control on display before this incident?
Was Julio able to start his car with the exhaust blocked?
Does Julio have a measureable IQ?
Yep.
My best friend’s alcoholic jerk of a husband loudly and proudly announces to me that they don’t buy each other gifts.
On an especially important milestone birthday, I angrily cornered him and let him know that he WOULD be getting her something. He bought her a bouquet of $10 supermarket flowers and she was so proud, giddy and tearful about it as it was the first gift he had gotten her in over 20 years. He let her think it was his idea. I let him.
And, hubby and I also give others gifts and will sponsor families over holidays in lieu of giving to each other. That is something we love to do. My friend’s husband is especially cruel to her and when he goes off about gift giving to her, it is crushing to see - it is HIS idea, not hers. And he DOESN’T give to others.
And how the heck do you walk in a police station with a murder weapon, covered in the victim’s blood, screaming a confession and then plead not guilty?
Wow. One time I had a woman who always made a point of “not needing material things to be happy” but would flip out if she felt a gift was inadequate. I mean, FLIP OUT violently. That was before I started making money, which happened about 3 months after we went our different directions. : ) So glad that situation is decades behind me. Tragic that this incident ended that way.
There are obviously no liberals on this thread.
A liberal would want the state to buy every wife a Christmas present (with a forged note from the husband) to prevent these senseless acts of violence!
No gift at all?
Lol...when that time arrives, it will be in the form of food ration tickets, like in Venezuela, as they don’t actually have rations to provide.
Wow, I didn’t receive anything and it never occurred to me to murder anyone.
Looks like he could have gotten away with reaching into the refrigerator.
As it goes (normally), If she ain’t happy, you ain’t happy. If she ain’t happy bad enough, you gonna be unhappy without half your sh!t.
We do too. We pretty much lavish all that on our grand daughters and son and daughter (and spouses).
She did complain about the stove, though, so I spotted a real nice Samsung model on sale at HD that was half off and bought it for her a little before Christmas. My daughter was actually envious about it....made wifey happy.
