Interesting photos despite the social commentary. I personally think the hunting camp is interesting. Mostly blacks with just a couple of white guys and everybody seems to be getting along fine.
Seems to me that Rural people are pretty much the same everywhere.

Those pictures are gorgeous. I've lived in a city all my life, and haven't had the opportunity to see places like that, even though I travel with friends sometimes when they travel to play shows.
I would love to see places like that. I'm not one of those spiritual hippies that say "nature calls out to me," but man, places like that seem like really nice areas to stay at for a while.

Exact opposite of inner city. There is a huge lesson there, and likely why liberals love congested cities so much.

You know you are in the Deep South when you see the Spanish Moss trees (especially plentiful along the coast of South Carolina and Georgia).

A lot of the marshland looks like Michigan but we don’t have Palmetto or spanish moss.

Those pics are of low country in SC...near Charleston, SC. Route 17 going between Georgetown, SC and Charleston, SC then up toward Myrtle Beach. Swamp areas...you can cross the marshes from I-26 to Isle of Palms, SC...all along the coast.
Also down around coast below Charleston, SC toward Kiawah Island there are rural areas like that. Those golf coastal clubs and housing has stripped a lot of that away. A lot of desolate areas like that not on beach too.
