As Americans trimmed the tree last week and hung their stockings with care, many viewers turned away from TV screens. During a week of mostly reruns, total prime-time viewership of the Big Four networks dipped by 25 percent from the week before.
Even so, CBS retained its customary lead position, claiming 12 of the top 20 programs, according to the Nielsen Co.
Only football scored big, with NBCs faceoff between Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, the week's most watched program, seen by nearly 21 million viewers, and ESPNs coverage of the Denver vs. Cincinnati clash drawing 16 million viewers to take third place.

Watching CBS programming now because they aren’t running New Years stuff since 6:00
My Netflix and cable OnDemand viewing increased significantly the last 2 weeks.
The new ROKU 3 made it even nicer for Netflix.
Same here.
Was looking through our package line up today and wishing we could only
subscribe to the 5 channels we watch.
I only have antenna TV. I work 12 hour days and don’t get home until 7 PM. Gotta watch fast and sleep faster!
Reruns are one of the best parts of the Christmas season - “Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet”, “Dragnet”, “Charlie Brown”, “Yes Virginia There is a Santa Claus”, “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “Polar Express”, “The Santa Clause”, “Miracle on 34th Street” - what’s not to like.....
Other than Dr. Who Christmas Special, most everything else consisted of ME-TV and a mini marathon of Quincy on DVD.
This year’s Xmas special was actually good; the Doctor’s coming back towards being the Doctor and not a rerun of the Sixth incarnation in a lot of ways. But that Steve Moffat guy’s gotta go.
Except for local news, I’ve been watching Netflix and Hulu Plus.
But, over on the Hallmark Channel, there was a new Christmas movie called, “Angels and Ornaments”.
Stunning original music .. almost haunting melody .. kept humming it all through the day as I worked.
It impressed me so much, I watched it several times and got the same enjoyment out of the music and the theme of the movie.
When so many seem to be seeking for “the one”, the message of this movie is: Be sure you take a closer look at “friends” .. they might just be hiding right in front of you. Great plot.
Television is run by commies except for a few good channels like RFD-TV, EWTN and the Sarah Palin Channel. There needs to be a Free Republic channel so that that truth will be broadcast. Even Fox is a ‘RAT and RINO mouthpiece.
Watching tonight a Shark Tank marathon... one couple wanted their product made in the USA... not in China...nobody gave them the $$$, but I might see if they are crowd sourcing.
You and me both... 165 channels of crap. 5 worth watching.
I like the episodes with David Tennant the best.
I couldn’t take the TV reruns and blah shows that were on over the holidays, so I had my Kindle Fire tablet on constantly, reading books, one right after the other. Read some great books. Think for the New Year my resolution is going to be reading more, and listening to TV less.
Charter has about 400 channels available with switched digital, I record about 6 of them, NetFlix gets most of the action here. Bandwidth runs about 60 megabit so there is plenty of action for the 2 dozen devices logged into my router.
We have cable.....hubby won’t give it up. He still watches tv shows at certain times on certain days. Me? I watch everything on my ipad whenever and wherever I want. Was at hospital all day the day after Christmas because daughter was having a baby. Used their wifi to watch like 5 episodes of Sons of Anarchy. lol
