A thread was posted two days ago, (4 Huge Mistakes I Made As A Wife (I'm The Ex-Wife Now)), that detailed a former wife's regrets for the demise of her marriage that she now acknowledges was her fault.
Contained in this thread, Post 31, was a list of Rules detailing the expectations for women who are in relationships with men.
I mentioned this list to a female freeper friend and suggested that she peruse the list for possible future reference. In typical freeper fashion, this strong willed person read the list and added her own comments regarding the aforementioned. I thought that she hit it out of the park and so, with her permission, I am sharing with the rest of freeper-dom her take on the Men's Rules.
In the middle of the night at my age sometimes the target moves.
Oh I so agree. My wife jokingly threatens to cut her hair short. She has long, jet black that at times hangs down to her hips. It’s spectacular. I would literally cry if she cut it.
And with enough beer, that one data point is viewed through a paper towel roll tube about five feet long!
By that measuring stick, so is crying.
The only Freeper men’s rule that I follow is if a beautiful woman is mentioned in a thread, you must post a picture of her.
i agree.
your friend sounds like she has to have a response for everything.
that may be great for a temporary girlfriend. maybe not so much for decades. it’s not a competition and the bottom line is a helpmete isn’t the boss. everything doesn’t need an attempted-superiorly smart-alecky comeback.
maybe she didn’t mean to sound like that, but that’s how it comes across.
i dunno, george, you just kind grew on me. co-stan-za!
those are the ones you catch penis-shriveling diseases from.
well, i would hope if you really do want someone, that you find a really good guy. just don’t try to be the guy. look at all the successful coutries with two presidents, or ships with two captains.
there was an episode of bridezillas that showed a bride arguing with a musician over the bill and going into a weepy crying fit, then trying to get her new husband to fight her battle, and he wasn’t buying being played, and immediately she stopped crying. totally phony.
and on top of that you don’t look like a young boy. which is awesome for men that like a woman that looks different from them.
now some women look great with a certain syle of short hair, but for most women it isn’t their most attractive look. i will also admit a good short haircut can be better than the librarian “bun” hairdo.
men can. take one can of jolt cola.... :-)
Not those skanks.
Quality weemen.
it’s called method acting. women are the best emotional manipulators out there. we all had moms, and we all know about their relationships with their moms. men don’t see it coming. until way too late.
women cry in court and almost always get lesser sentences. much more inclined to get people to believe an insanity plea - how could a WOMAN commit such an act and be sane? paternalist judges and jurors.
yes, happy new year to everyone, in advance. i’d share my new year’s wish but then it won’t come true.
When I was five, my Mom got tired of messing with my hair and had it cut the “Dorothy Hamill” style, essentially a bowl cut. I was a tomboy and didn’t like to wear dresses, so I looked like a little boy in my jeans, sneakers, and t-shirts. Almost 40 years later, Mom still insists that I looked cute and didn’t look like a boy. I always point out that strangers addressed me as “little boy,” and it wasn’t because I looked feminine. If I ever meet Ms. Hamill, I will be tempted to kick her in the shins.
Sometimes the women milk it too much and the crying backfires. I’ve represented a couple of guys in court proceedings where their ex-wives showed up and played the sympathy card. One started crying as soon as opposing counsel asked her to state her name for the record. The judge looked at her like she was from Mars.
