A UCLA professor was called racist, and guilty of a micro-aggression against black students for correcting grammar and spelling issues on their papers. A protest was organized and students claim the professor has created a hostile climate on campus for his actions.
Downtrend reports:
I thought the race debate reached a new low when Gummy Bear maker Haribo was accused of racism for making African mask Gummies, but what happened at UCLA this week makes that look sane. 25 University of California Los Angeles students participated in a sit-in protest because, get this, one of their professors had the gall to correct grammar and spelling issues on some black students papers.

Well said, Ghost.
Criminal Justice or aka Criminal Justice Technology.
There are numerous classes taught.
1. Introduction to Criminal Justice
2. Juvenile Justice or Juvenile Delinquency
3. Criminology
4. Criminal Theory
When an Instructor teaches at the Community College level, these are known as pre-requisite classes to higher levels at the University. The honor students are allowed to take these in high school to get a jump on their college education.
However, some principals are bad to put their bad guys in those classes...causing a real problem with the curriculum. Taxpayers pay for this loss, because those grants are supposed to help the poorer, and more talented students get some of their college without costs.
I hope that answers your question.
ebonics redux.
Being corrected by a teacher, whom you are paying to teach you, is hostility?!?!? How about a thank you. As long as a person takes offense so easily he will never have much success or happiness. It isn’t racism that keeps folks down. But a loser attitude.
Apparently it is racist to expect black people to meet the same standards that white people have been required to meet for centuries.
Let’s hear it for ignorance!
“... he uses commas excessively”.
That may be from today’s education based on passing the standardized tests. Old days: I ate an apple, orange and a pear.
Now: I ate an apple, orange, and a pear.
The standardized testing will mark it wrong if there isn’t a comma but not mark it wrong if there are extra commas. Thus, this is how students are taught today. I’ve had this issue explained to me by teachers when I questioned the marking.
“It would be better than voluntarily boarding the buses and railcars that will deliver us to the re-education centers.”
Correct. The war is already “on,” and we’re losing. We either do something or we’ve lost.
The professor (who so rudely corrected spelling and grammar mistakes), was a professor of GRADUATE EDUCATION AND INFORMATION.
Graduate level, as in advanced degree. Education, as in, these students are potential educators. He is correcting these students' grammar and spelling after approximately 16 years of "education".
Correcting grammar and conjugation
I is be
You is be

:0) [Fred be on their list I’m guessing]
That’s effin hilarious.
So the professor was a “grammar cracker”?
The civil war could never happen today because nobody would enlist and half the troops would refuse to fight.
As evidence you need only to look at the near divorce of Scotland from the UK- absolutely nobody suggested a war if Scotland voted to seceed.
I had a black boss who would write reports the same as he spoke. Trying to read Ebonics is worse than fingernails on a blackboard. I constantly had to explain common English words to him. Yes, he was born and raised in the US. A black coworker at the same workplace would pronounce “perpetrator” as “peppertraitor”, ugh.
It seems that every generation of blacks has to earn their stripes by engaging in the war on racism. No matter how minor or imaginary the offense.
“Everything that we’re losing, we’re giving away, no one else has the strength to take it. “
Yes, that is the worst part of it. And when we have to use force to take it back, we’ll be painted as the bad guys.
