Liberal novelist Stephen King regrets asserting that if you don't learn how to read, you'll end up in "the Army, Iraq." The comment, widely seen as a shot at the military, was first publicized six years ago on NewsBusters. In an interview with the Huffington Post, King was asked if he stood by the remarks.
The author lamented, "No. That was just a case of misspeaking and also having one of those brain cramps that you realize that you're no longer living in the world that you grew up in...If I could take one remark back, that would be the one."

‘Those are OUR planes now.”
I remember reading a few stephen king books while deployed to Bosnia... with the Army.
My GT score on my ASVAB qualifies me for MENSA, Steve. FOAD.
In other words, Steven King has a new collection of short stories coming out in the first half of January, so he has to ‘till the soil’ just a little bit now.
Gutless.
Liberals in the Democratic Party have proudly proclaimed an anti-military, pro-pacifist utopian agenda. One of the greatest examples of this bias occurred on the day of Clinton's inauguration. Actor Ron Silver saw Air Force jets scream overhead and had a knee-jerk reaction of visceral hatred - until it occured to him, "those planes are ours now."
Jon Carry said almost the exact same thing.
He has come up with some interesting ideas for stories but I suspect he may be mentally deranged to a degree at least.
I think you mean Jim Carrey, and pay them no mind they are both dickless liberals.
No, he meant John Fkn Kerry
Old hippies like King don’t die.
They just smell that way.
"You know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well, and if you dont you get stuck in Iraq.
Too late, the liberal punk should stick to writing stories.
Mister King may have a BA in English; however, this USAF veteran holds an advanced science degree, plus full membership in a scientific society.
As one with several publications, including one book, I feel somewhat qualified to be a literary critic.
And, in the case of Mister King, the movie adaptations are usually superior to his novels.
(I hope Mister King realizes that this is a high insult.)
.
I live in Maine, and I’m still waiting for Stephen King to apologize for donating money to “gun control” groups here in The Pine Tree State shortly after Sandy Hook.
People in Maine love their firearms. A military supply store heavily advertised on the radio for their day after Christmas one day sale. AR-15s for “less than $599.” All other firearms fifty dollars above cost.
King is a moonbat’s moonbat.
Lots of idiots have BA degrees. In fact, I think they sell them at every university.
No, he meant Jaques Al-Querry. He said the same during his campaign..
Active Duty/Retiree ping.
Cheers!
