The San Francisco 49ers will reportedly fire head coach Jim Harbaugh "within two days" of the end of the team's season, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports.

not really; the GM and coach have been at odds for several years now- does not make for a happy family...

This Buckeye agrees with you. The Game is still fun, but less exciting, without a truly viable Michigan team.

I think Harbaugh already announced his resignation from the 49ers by now in private to team management. I expect that at the news conference after the final game, Harbaugh will officially announce he is personally stepping down as 49ers head coach to save the 49ers management from firing him first.

Given the way he blasted U of M, his alma mater, for focusing on football players with questionable academics I'm surprised they would even consider him.

With that being said, if he does go to U of M, I'm sure he's going to put his money where his mouth is and go out and recruit all those over looked scholar athlete football players........

Kaepernick is the next one that’s got to go.

He’s a classless punk. And he’s not the only one.

I long for the classy days of DeBartolo, Walsh, Montana, Young, Rice, Craig, Clark...

Agreed. Aside from the internal politics of the front office, Kaperrinkydink is a major part of the Niner’s problem.

“I’m guessing blowing a 21-0 lead at home on national TV was the last straw.”

I think Harbaugh’s job has been in jeopardy since game two of this season.

I’d like to see Harbaugh in Buffalo.

I'd love to see him come to Chicago and coach the Bears. Rumor on the street and on sports radio is that the Bears are VERY interested in bringing him in next year and doing a wholesale cleaning of the front office and current coaching staff.

Given his performance this season, one problem I can see is that Harbaugh backed the wrong horse in Colin Kaepernick.

You're right. That's what it was. Two years ago it looked to many (including Harbaugh) that Kaepernick would become a great quarterback. But it turned out that he's not going to be the star they hoped for. That mistake did Harbaugh in.

That was so awesome. Nothing like a righteous choke in front of the home fans.

I think every coach in the NFL would have chosen Kaepernick over Smith.

If he is fired, the termination maybe on of mutual agreement between the 49’ers, Harbaugh, and TSUN. Eveybody wins. SF gets a fresh start, UM gets their Michigan Man, and Harbaugh gets his $$$$. Harbaugh can quickly turn the Skunk Weasel program around, but hey, its the BIG 14. Sometimes it is good to be a big fish in a small shallow pond.

“The root problem is Humperdinck and that stupid “bad boy” ball cap he insists on wearing....he apparently has no idea how foolish it makes him appear.”

How about his “bad boy” tats? Talk about stupid looking.

He caught the league defensive coordinators by surprise in his first season, that I witnessed. Another good athlete, like so many QB’s, good arm, great legs, weak head.

At this point I would just love to see him GO. His time management and play calling as well as conditioning of players is atrocious. Has managed to take a team and run it into the ground
