British actor Idris Elba could be the first black James Bond, according to more leaked e-mails from Sony Pictures.
Idris should be the next Bond, Sony Pictures chief Amy Pascal wrote nearly a year ago in an e-mail to Elizabeth Cantillon, a former executive vice president at Columbia Pictures.
The leaked e-mail, reported by the Daily Beast, is from a trove of private e-mails, salary reports and bits of script and rough footage swiped and released by hackers believed to be from North Korea.
Current Bond actor Daniel Craig is signed on to one more James Bond installment, Spectre, due out on Nov. 5, 2015.

Daniel Craig is the best Bond ever.
LOL!
Way to go Mumbles
Fine, so long as the next Martin Luther King, Jr. movie or made for TV documentary features a white actor for King.
It worked so well for “Annie”... And it’s not like they can come up with a decent, original character played by a black man. We all know what Sony thinks about that.
I have never heard of black Kojak, when did that come out? Did it go straight to video? Black Annie came out this weekend, I’m skipping that. A black girl with an affro and no pupils, like the zombies from Omega Man.
Sean Connery is the best Bond, Craig is second. The rest all suxed.
Maybe he could be called Black Bail Bond!
Should have been called “Anniequa.”
Well, the Black Annie worked out SO well..../s
Goodbye, box office. This will go over as well as a black Little Orphan Annie.
Bond is a fictional character. That’s like saying that Sean Connery can’t play Bond because he’s Scottish, and in the Ian Fleming novels Bond was clearly British.
The only question is whether Idris Elba has the screen presence to play Bond. My belief is, yes.
Very good actor—it might work if the screenplay was solid. Let’s face it, the ladies might dig it depending on what he’s (ahem) packing. It’s just too bad Daniel Craig seems to hate doing it, because I think he’s a great Bond. I like the lessening of camp and the increased menace he brought to the series. (One thing I never liked about the earlier Bonds was the almost cartoon-ish attempts to add humor. It never worked for me.) In any case, I’d watch the first Elba effort, just out of curiosity.
Is this some North Korean prank??? How about Ben Affleck as the new Shaft?
Shut yo' mouth!
I'm not familiar with Sydney Porter.
“I’m not familiar with Sydney Porter.”
Many years ago, some famous actor called him Porter. There was a big flap about it.
