It is miles away from the Bible story. I hate that I just gave Hollyweird a reward of my hard earned money for producing this garbage. Please, please, learn from my mistake.
I wasn’t super blown away.
That’s what they said about “Noah”, but it had a lot of material from the Book of Enoch. Movies are entertainment. If I want the bible story, I read the bible.
I was going to see it tomorrow! Tell me what you didn’t like. This is disappointing.
Is this the one where they have an eight year old bratty boy play the part of God?
a lot of cgi (no doubt) about a story that they don’t believe in the first place.
And they wonder why it will be awful.
Rotten Tomatoes: 28% Critics, 40% Audience ratings.
I will probably go see it because it looks good. Maybe not accurate, but entertaining.
I don’t think they have to make them a religious event but sort of like a historical novel, they should not make them to be historically irrelevant either.
Thanks for the clue - but knew that’s what it would be.....just like Noah.......
Hollywood loves to feed a false narrative to nominal Christians and unbelievers to totally mis-represent what the Bible actually states. If you know the real story, the total distortions are very disturbing - especially the ones that misrepresent the character of major Bible characters - all sinners like the rest of us, but without all the garbage that Hollywood adds.......
Cecil B Demille took creative license by adding two lover stories and characters like Baka, but the meat of the Exodus story was their along with the spiritual and theological message.
They have to at least try to be true to the story if they want to interest me. I never saw Noah and if your take is consistent with others’ I won’t bother with it either. I still like the Ten Commandments. It is not perfect but they tried to be true.
The makers of this film knew what they wanted to do, and they were willing to lose millions, perhaps hundreds of millions of dollars, to deliver this product of the atheist who directed it.
Ridley Scott:
“the biggest source of evil is of course religion.”
“The Soviets appear to be the first to have used the cinema for a purpose other than entertainmentat least on a grand scale. Lenin said to Anatoli Lunacharsky, the Commissar of Education, “You are known among us as a protector of the arts, so you must well remember that, of all the arts, for us the cinema is the most important.””
Stalin declared: Cinema is the greatest means of mass agitation. Our problem is to take this matter into our own hands.
If it was produced in Homowood, you can guarantee that it is a complete perversion of the Bible. Thanks for the warning, but I an already aware.
Never go to Hollyweird for accurate historical or true Biblical movies. I will say that Mel Gibson did a great job with The Passion ....
The Golden Globe nominations are out and once again, I am proud to say I haven’t seen a single one of the movie nominees. Movies today are garbage and I won’t waste my time and money on them.
I have no problem with “creative” license. Doing what they did with Noah and now Exodus is a failure to be creative. Even “Prince of Egypt” managed to do the story justice and it had plenty of creative license.
Hollywood is at the point where they can’t produce anything of value because they have no value themselves. All they can do anymore is provide just enough backdrop for special effects to be bearable.
I would have suspected as much
Thanks
I read some pretty awful reviews on IMDB. I was kind of surprised, but after Noah I shouldn’t be.
I want to sing you a song and then wreck a brand new car, after a night of bingeing...
