Time to Tackle Global Warming Running Out, Pope Tells Climate Summit

VATICAN CITY - Tackling the problem of climate change is a serious ethical and moral responsibility, Pope Francis told negotiators from around the world meeting for a climate summit in Lima, Peru.

"The time to find global solutions is running out. We can find adequate solutions only if we act together and unanimously," he said in a written message to Manuel Pulgar-Vidal, Peru's minister of the environment and host president of the 20th UN Climate Change Conference.

Thousands of negotiators from 195 countries gathered for the meeting in Lima Dec. 1-12 to hammer out details of a new international agreement to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases that cause global warming.

The Vatican released a copy of the Pope's message Dec. 11.

The Pope encouraged the leaders in their discussions because their decisions will "affect all of humanity, especially the poorest and future generations. What's more, it represents a serious ethical and moral responsibility."

The impact climate change already has been having on coastal regions and other areas "reminds us of the seriousness of negligence and inaction," he said. It is morally imperative that people act.

"An effective fight against global warming will be possible only with a collective and responsible answer" that overcomes one-sided or special interests and is "free from political and economic influence," he said.

The Pope said the leaders' response will have to "overcome distrust; promote a culture of solidarity, encounter and dialogue; and be capable of showing responsibility for protecting the planet and the human family."

Apparently this Pope is out of the loop on the facts of so-called climate change.

God’s Word says that God is in charge of the forces of nature, not man. He used the Great Flood to cleanse the earth of its wicked population. He punished Israel with a seven year drought in the time of Elijah. The land and the seas are His because He made them. Jesus showed his power over the wind and waves when He calmed the storm that threatened His disciples.

“Oh Lord, You preserve man and beast. How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.” Psalm 36:6, 7.

Worrying about the climate, that is in God’s control, shows a lack of faith in His almighty providence.

When it comes to the sun, Popes it seems have been getting it wrong since 1633 when the Roman Inquisition incarcerated Galileo for the rest of his life.

As a Catholic, I am begging this Pope to shut his mouth on matters not involving the Catholic religion. His background of being born and raised in a country which has been disfuntional for over a century clouds his thinking. Then again, he is a Jesuit, so what did we ever expect when the College of Cardinals voted Jorge to be Pope.

I think God already fixed the problem...of global warming that is. If Pope Fritz really said this, he's dumber than a box of rocks, and that may be more challenging for the Grand Puppeteer.

Is it to late to change his name to Pope Rocky?

Anyone who promotes the Global Warming Hoax is a fool, or is the willing tool of the totalitarians, scam artists, and eugenicists who devised it.

Pray for this Pope to retire soon.

There are those who argue that the College of Cardinals have the power to meet in conclave, and elect a new Pope. There are canonized saints who have said so.

It is not entirely clear that he actually said that, but there can be no doubt that he always believed it.

The idea that a Council, a committee, a UN can establish matters of scientific fact is utterly contrary to the scientific method. And it was for the scientific method as opposed to deduction from ideology done by authority that Galileo sacrificed his liberty.

Our liberty is about to be sacrificed to the same false service to ideology proclaimed by authority. Irony of ironies, our sacrifice will be distorted to the electorate as a commitment by us to ideology and a denial of science. Our world just, as Galileo's world, is being stood on its head.

The more it moves the more it stays the same.

I hope I am a die-hard defender of the Catholic Church and the Catholic Faith. But THIS Pope daily reveals himself to be uninformed and shallow, and a thoughtless, knee-jerk trendy.

This Pope alienated me when he groused about people’s being “obsessed with abortion.” Shortly after that, someone unearthed a quotation from JPII, SPECIFICALLY saying that, given the reality and gravity of the evil of abortion, it was inconceivable that anyone would characterize Catholics’ or Christians’ or anyone’s concern about it as an “obsession.”

The more people are led to distinguish between the actual Faith of the Catholic Church, and the opinions of this Pope on X, Y, and Z, which have nothing to do with the Faith, the less damage he can do.
