With all the recent race clanging on MSNBC and other cable news networks, nows probably a good time to remind everyone that America is among the least racist countries in the world.
I know this statement will be shocking news to regular viewers of PoliticsNation, but it also has the quality of being true.
From 2010 to 2014, the World Values Survey asked residents in over 50 countries who they would not want as neighbors. Just over five percent of respondents in the United States said people of a difference race. Thats far more tolerant a response than citizens of most European, African and Asian countries gave. As a comparison, 15 percent of Germans, 41 percent of Indians and 22 percent of Japanese said they wouldnt want to live next to people of a different race.

We are the LEAST racist country in the world. Bar none. It’s not even close.
>>America is among the least racist countries in the world
Which is wasis!
I don’t give a flying rat’s dingleberries what color anyone’s skin is or where their daddy came from. I will hold all people to the same standard. Much to the chagrin to Fascist pigs and their dupes.
So racist that people sneak in by the millions to live here in this intolerant country.
This is my own experience, having travelled to various countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas. The level of casual, unabashed bigotry in those places (against all sorts) was astonishing.
Check out how the dark skinned Mexicans are treated by their light skinned brothers...
Is this somehow supposed to erase the racism industry in America?? Somehow to make it look insignificant??
It’s a leg to stand on in order to begin fighting back against them. Especially since said industry has a lot of support from the racists overseas.
To be fair though, there are valid reasons to not want to live near other races that don’t include so-called racism.
I don’t buy this survey. I think it’s real meaning is that Americans are more “whipped”.
Non-black Americans tend not live in mostly black areas if they can afford to live elswhere, and differences in crime rates are a rational reason for this.
I have had many people of all colors and ethnicities ask me if I am racist. My answer is always the same: “Locally, no. I treat everyone I know and meet with dignity and respect. Globally, yes.” They then, of course, ask me what I mean by, “Globally, yes”. My answer is always as follows:
“When I see people like Race Hustler Sharpton, $hakedown Jackson and Obemba come on TV to cry about ‘racism’ then it makes me hate them because I do not see all of this ‘racism’ on the street when I meet people.”
They always tend to begrudgingly agree and say that they have never looked at the issue in those terms.
It’s not because of their race. And even racism on their part does not make it about race on our part. So it’s not about living near other races, but living near criminal-minded folk.
So racism really isn’t higher in the Old World? or in the Middle East’s “Muslim World”? or other places where it’s cited that racism is higher?
Yep. I’ve traveled all over the world and the US is by far the least racist. In fact, I’d hardly call us racist at all. In many other countries, you’ll see that things are FAR different.
Couldn’t tell that fact from the rhetoric flying around.
Almost everywhere there are degrees of xenophobia, ranging from raised eyebrow to going on an active hunt and slaughter of the “outsiders” when it comes to the various races.
America is most definitely NOT a “race”, but a culture, perhaps the most inclusive in the history of the world. Anyone may become an American, but the emphasis, which has apparently been lost recently, is on accepting that set of standards and ideals, and abiding by them, with a decent respect for, FIRST, the principles as stated, then to all the symbols and attributes assigned to those principles.
You may or may not agree with your neighbor on implementations of policy, but respect is always in order.
There are large numbers now crowding here who have little or no respect for all that has been here, and its history worked out through trial and error by all persons of good will. Either they learn the particulars of that history, and how the various compromises have been worked out, or they are free to leave for wherever else in the world that they believe will agree with their pernicious dislike of “the American way”.
Or as I prefer to call it, the “Cowboy code”.
Yeah, I like the continuous smell of curry floating in the air...
Surprising that Indians are almost twice as racist as Japanese. But then again, have witnessed that racism personally.
The only racism in the country are the ones who seek it note media too.
