They’ll still beat the Eagles...
It’s inevitable.
The birds need to change their logo to the International Choking Symbol.

I actually met that guy when I was a little kid. He was at a local youth sports thingey/happening/whatsitcalled back when I was knee-high to a grasshopper.
Big bruiser dude, but really good with the kids.
But no, I didn’t see it...
HA! THERE IS NO CHUCK BEDNARIK SPECIAL!!! Khent tried to trick you.
I was reading about him; guy was a frigging bruiser for real. Played both offense and defense.
And served 4 years in the military during WW2.
Yep.
OTOH, if NO wins out, at least there won’t be a sub-.500 division winner.
my TIEBREAKER thread did not hit 2000 posts ...
peeples seem to prefer the standard method, which I never thought adds much to the discussion.

at least give us one without the TIE crap:
AFC
Cincinnati can clinch a playoff berth with:
1) CIN win
4) KC loss + SD loss + BUF loss
Pittsburgh can clinch a playoff berth with:
1) PIT win
Baltimore can clinch a playoff berth with:
1) BAL win + PIT loss + CIN loss
2) BAL win + KC loss + SD loss
NFC
Detroit can clinch a playoff spot with:
1) DET win
3) PHI loss
Dallas can clinch the NFC East division title with:
1) DAL win + PHI loss
Dallas can clinch a playoff berth with:
1) DAL win + GB loss + DET loss
Seattle can clinch a playoff spot with:
1) SEA WIN! Because the DET-GB game in week 17 creates a loss for one of them!
2) PHI loss + DAL win
These are redundant! (Unless DET-GB game ends in TIE!)
1) SEA win + PHI loss
2) SEA win + DET loss
3) SEA win + GB loss
Green Bay can clinch a playoff spot with:
1) GB win + PHI loss
2) GB win + DAL win
5) PHI loss + DAL win
New Orleans can clinch the NFC South division title with:
1) NO win + CAR loss
IIRC the last 2 ties turned out to be very relevant playoff wise, with a tying team making it because the tie was a tie and not a loss.
I like using ESPN’s playoff machine
http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/machine
let us try
MIA PITT SD KC all at 9-7
SD over KC, makes it a 3-way tie for the #6 seed.
1 game in 200 ends in a tie ... ain’t happening to one of these playoff teams in the next 2 weeks.
SD 9-7 7-5
MI 9-7 7-5
PT 9-7 7-5
GOES to common. SD has common over MI (11 games) and COMMON over PT (5 games). They get the tie. OR
is it because of the 5 common games (common to all 3):
SD 4-1
PT 2-3
MI 3-2
could be that one.
EITHER WAY, SD GETS THAT ONE. AS WOULD KC. BASED ON H2H.
TRY
AZ DET GB DAL PHIL ALL AT 11-5
DAL loss is to INDY, beat Skins
creates a 3-way for the wildcard at
AZ GB DAL
‘splain that one!
AZ has clinched SOV over GB at 11-5
if the GB victory is over TB.
if GB beats DET, SOV vs. AZ is ???
at 11-5 or 12-4
AZ 74 PLUS 4 h2h = 78 min
GB 62.5 Plus 10x2 minus TB minus 7 h2h = 76.5 MAX
I don’t understand the language you guys are speaking! Is it like common core or new math???
sarc
I was playing with it. Dallas goes from Wild Card to 1st seed if Green Bay loses next week under the scenario I made, even if the Eagles also win.
Very interesting
still 5 teams in NFC with a good shot at a bye.
DAL can keep SEA from getting #1 seed due to head2head @ 12-4.
although SEA has the 3-way tie at 12-4. gets #1 seed.
Perhaps tiebreakerese could be considered a second language. On the census, do you speak any other languages at home?
why, Yes. AZ has SOV over GB if GB 11th is TB, but it is razor close if GB 11th is DET! We speaks ‘em tiebreak language.
I was talking about the tie we’ve already had, Bunguls and Panthers.
yeah, well those clinching scenarios only discuss ties that would theoretically happen this week, week 16.
We’ve lost the Saturday games and also, the Sunday night game on Week 17 is Flex, which gives the teams an advantage cuz they already know the outcome of earlier games.
correction, we’ve got 2 SAT games this week. Were those pre-scheduled? Probably. not flex.
Saturday games late in the season, I seem to recall that being a thing.
Hmmmm, Is that why you never respond to my posts???
