The big win by the Buckeyes probably put them into the final four of the College Football Playoff. The rankings by the committee (due in about 25 hours) are likely going to be:
Tide
Ducks
Noles
Bucks
I apologize. I’d forgotten about those seven straight national championships by Big Ten teams/sarc...
Baylor had a hell of a year. Maybe their schedule can ramp up just a bit.
Yep, 2006-2007. Pre-Barack years...
Baylor had 58 points scored on them by the Horned Frogs.
They also had 46 points scored on them by Texas Tech, who went 4-8 this year.
No team that has a defense that allowed 58 points should be a serious contender when there are more deserving competitors.
I agree that the system is absurd, but only because there's actual discussion of the Seminoles not being included in the top 4, even though they're the only undefeated team, defending National Champions, and just won another major conference victory.
Oregon
Fsu
Alabama
Baylor
I’m taking Oregon +19 if your interested.
And it’s looking like the basketball team isn’t going to be much better than the football team this year.
I don’t care how the Quackers look against inferior teams.
It should be:
#1 Bama based on schedule.
#2 Noles based on their record.
#3 Quackers because they lost to a team that lost to two under ranked teams before they beat them.
#4 Baylor, because they beat TCU!
That’s why I say, it’s Bama and Oregon, then everybody else.
That’s just stupid. Ohio State got routed at home by the lowly Virginia Tech Hokies. No way in hell does any team that loses at home, let alone to a sub-.500 team from the ACC play in the national playoffs while Baylor and TCU go home. No way in hell.
I agree.
The "SEC dominance" folks need to understand that just because Alabama is consistently good, it doesn't make the whole conference automatically the best. The ACC went 3-0 against the SEC last week during rivalry weekend.
I too would take Baylor over TCU. Being here in Texas, I am partial a bit to the Big 12, but they ticked me off with that Co-Champion nonsense.
I would, cause they actually lost to Notre Dame, that was a stupid call, offensive pass interference (and no I’m not an Irish fan).
If I had a vote I would ignore the results of bad calls I don’t like, cause that’s how I roll. Just my opinion.
“15th major conference championship in 22 years?”
That’s not really a relevant point since we’re only talking about this year,
The past means dick.
Match up OSU vs any SEC team at this point in time and it is easily an even matchup. OSU has speed and power, just the same as any SEC team.
You may not want to acknowledge that reality, but it is what is is, and you would be doing yourself a disservice to deny that reality, IMO.
OSU looked AmaZing.
Also, inserting OSU fixes the TCU Baylor conundrum.
It wasn’t a shut out for the season!!!
Bama
Ducks
Bucks
Noles
Mark May's (Democrat) list is:
Bama
Ducks
Noles
Frogs
Baylor has the number one offense.
There would be no conflict if the big 12 director had not decided to force Baylor to share the big 12 title with tcu. Had Baylor been given it’s rightful claim it would disqualify tcu.
Baylor lost a game where refs called a record 215 yards in penalties in West Virginia.
A sign down in Waco by someone in the crowd:
Corso has it right.
