The current line is Hanoverian (George I) mixed with Saxe Coburg (Albert) and Danish (Phillip). There is no Tudor or Plantagenet blood lines there
From what I understand the justification for placing the Hanoverians on the throne were their descendents through Tudors; Margaret Tudor to James V of Scotland to Mary Queen of Scots to James I of England to Elizabeth Stuart to Sophia of Hanover to George I and so on.

Still, the issue of their legitimacy was a touchy subject for the Tudors. Henry VII put to death Edward Plantagenet, the Earl of Warwick, extinguishing the male Plantagenet line. Henry VIII executed Margaret Pole, Countess of Salisbury, another Plantagenet.
It is an interesting fact however, that could lead to plenty of speculation as to who the cuckold was back in the chain of descent.

Yes, Owen Tudor and Queen Catherine were a very touchy subject.
There were books about this period in the children's section, either in the library in my junior high school, or in the public library when I was that age, 12 to 14. Well-researched stuff, with a real sense of the cold and misery. I wish I remembered more, titles or authors.
I do love history, indiscriminately. No matter what subject you begin to explore, you find interesting people in situations I’d like to avoid.

Probably. She was a pawn in a very complex game. Deciding to blow off the whole thing (or close your eyes and roll the dice) has a lot of win percentage, if there are no obvious good choices.
For comparison, we could look at Henry VIII’s surviving wives, Anne of Cleves and Katherine Parr. Anne was divorced and settled with a pension and a comfortable place at court as “the King’s beloved Sister.” Katherine, his widow, married again but died giving birth.
Anne of Cleves was a smart cookie. She figured out how to play Henry and as a result lived a comfortable and peaceful life.
