Less than two years ago some believed Robert Griffin III could change the way the United States was governed.
Not just change the football fortunes of the Washington Redskins, not just change the bottom line for Nike or Subway or anyone else who'd jumped in with a pleasant, charismatic and dynamic quarterback, not just change how his position is played, in his case with 4.3 speed and an accurate arm.
No, he could change American governance.

Looks like another QB draft bust this one more costly considering all the high draft picks the 'Skins gave up to move up to draft RGIII. It is pretty obvious he can't do the basics required to be a NFL QB. The only options I see is either to install the Baylor Offense knowing RGIII will eventually get hurt or cut him after this season is over.

You can have short-term success being that kind of QB, but eventually the League will figure you out.

Too bad, he seems like a nice guy. Plus he is an Army brat. Would love to see him succeed. But it ain’t looking good right now.

Right, good at the college level but the NFL is a different world. I think he will end up traded and become a glorified back up for another team.

Yep and they will take a lot of injuries. I remember the year Drew Brees and MIchael Vick entered the NFL I predicted to my football friends that Brees would have the more successful NFL career because he was classic pocket passer who thrived in college playing an NFL style offense. I was teased mercilessly for two years over that prediction. They don't bring it up much anymore though.

Not always. Fran Tarkenton did pretty well.

Zackly! With the exception of people like Fran Tarkenton, very few scrambling quarterbacks make it in the pros. They get caught and crushed pretty quickly. That’s why the wishbone has never made it in the pros.

The NFL is a passing QB’s league— Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees..., the next QB to enter the ranks of the elite will be Luck not any of the running QB’s who came into the league 3 or 4 years ago....

Seemed like a breath of fresh air when drafted but I always contended he would get broke up in the NFL, didn't look to me like he had a 'football' body that would withstand the bruising play in the NFL. Last couple of years his RG-ME act has worn thin on a lot of folks. Have lived and died with the Skins since the early 60s, these last 15-20 years under the Snyder regime has been hell.

RG-Me! LIKE!! He was a whiny bee-yotch in the Big 12, too - always looking for a flag. His act grew old quickly.

...yeah, Fran Tarkenton and Roger Staubach come to mind...
To: C19fan
If they had a good offensive line and receivers, he’d be fine. But their owner suffers from I-want-to-be-like-Jerry-Jones syndrome.

...until he starts throwing picks and overshooting receivers...then the fans will want to string him up, like with Joe Flacco last year, all the time crying for another Colin Kapernick...

Christian QB's too.
To: CJ Wolf
RGIII is actually a good guy, strong Christian, and role model. I hate the Deadskins, but I wish RGIII well personally and professionally.
