In an unintuitive way, the choice was a good one to sink McCain and Romney although ot gave Conservatives 8 years of Obama which according to the recent mid-term elections has left the democrat party in shambles.

In short, sinking McCain and Romney has left the democrat party in shambles. That’s not intuitive but it works.

If either McCain or Romney had been elected, it is certain that the issues that Conservatives are so firmly against would be in work today and there would be no place to go except to form a new party.

Obama has been good for the GOP Base. But the battle is not over. The GOPe are gathering to lay out an agenda that will be just as odious as that of the democrats.

That sales pitch of "You are an idiot to stand by your principles, vote for our liberal republican" didn't help the GOP-E much either.

You don't call people you want to vote for you idiots.....

These mid-terms was a bumper crop of RINO’s winning.

McConnell, Cochran, Perdue, Roberts, Susan Collins, Tillis, Graham, Alexander, Cornyn, etc all won with comfortable margins.

One other point that is crucial to absorb: Hillary Clinton is reported to be considering how to divide the GOP so that she can slide into office without a majority just like her husband did.

The GOPe vs. Conservative infighting must be settled and unity introduced for the 2016 fight. Hence, it is important now more than ever that Tea Party minded Conservatives grab positions of leadership and influence to prevent the GOPe from dividing the GOP further.

History proves the GOPe cannot unite the Party and importantly cannot persuade Independents to vote Republican.

Whereas, Tea Party GOP Conservatives are allied with Independent conservatives and together they form a bloc that creates landslides in elections.

And Independents now number 42% in voter registrations!

That is one of the soundest arguments for standing by our conservative principles that I’ve ever seen posted here.

I and others here have made the same points thousands of times on this forum, but perhaps not at the same level of wordsmanship.

Thank you.

Great review. So, who is the GOPe’s General Pickett going to be this time?

No offense, but that’s over 2800 words detailing something that we already know.

Here’s the problem: Boehner and McConnell are between you and the goal. Given the GOPe is *FIRMLY* entrenched in the controlling seats, how do we get to the goal?

There was a post today about the electoral college and how at present it favors the Democrat Party. Enlightening and discouraging at the same time. To win in 2016 will be very difficult - not impossible - but very difficult. I agree with this writer that it is no time for conservatives to be silent or give up. It won’t be easy. A lady caller on the Mark Levin show (guest host at the time) was telling the host how nearly impossible it has become to contact your senator or representative. It like they don’t want to hear from you. I hope Cruz will continue to make statements like he has in the past to keep the conservative in the forefront.

This possibly sentimental longing of General Lee to find a way to end the war quickly was perhaps the biggest factor in bringing about the Confederate loss at the Battle of Gettysburg.

Not sure I understand what you are trying to say here.

Well said sir.

Conservatives and Tea Party Movement types such as myself are indeed fighting a battle with dire consequences. The most pressing tactical threat we face is not from the line of democrats to our front, it is the threat from the Republican Establishment within our own lines that must be dealt with first if we are to ever have a chance of saving this country.

We, the Conservative and Tea Part Movement, must engage and destroy the entrenched Republican Establishment. There is no other option.

The greatest obstacle we must overcome to do this is that some in the Republican ranks still can only see that these people wear the same uniform and thus ignore the “friendly” fire coming from the rear. They have yet to come to terms with the reality of the situation. If we can get these well intentioned yet purposely misinformed soldiers to see the truth for what it is, this battle will eventually be won. But will we have done this in enough time?

Once the Republican Establishment realizes that they are about to be dethroned, does anyone really believe they will just peacefully surrender what they feel they have all along been entitled to? No. They will burn the Republican Party to the ground and then retreat into the waiting arms of K. Street and democrat party. What happens to the country is of no concern to them.

That leaves us with one last decision before we can truly and effectively engage the democrat party.

Do we waste time and resources trying to root out the Republican Establishment die hards knowing they are going to destroy everything before they go or do we decide to form our own army, building it to our standards, choosing leaders we can trust, thus allowing the real fight for this country to be fought?

However the decision is made, it must be soon. We may not have anything left worth fighting for if we wait much longer.

I say let the revolution begin.

McCain was selected by the GOPe. He never had rousing support from the base and Romney had practically none.

Between them they got 2/3 of the primary vote in New Hampshire and Florida in 2008. Throw in Giuliani and together they got half the primary vote in South Carolina. Pretty good for guys without support from the base.

In return GW Bush turned a blind eye to SEC enforcement of so many egregiously fraudulent banking and finance practices that later in 2008 would bring the nation to its knees.

Beware, though. Bush may have turned a blind eye to some practices out of cronies -- or maybe he couldn't get Congress to do anything about the abuses. A more free-market, small government party might do the same thing out of principle (and of course, Democrats would overlook similar practices for their own reasons).
