I grew up in a Democratic family. I have been a registered Democrat since age 18, a Democratic candidate for statewide office in Colorado and a party precinct captain in that caucus state. Ive volunteered for numerous Democratic candidates and contributed to party causes and campaigns. The 2014 election results were extremely disappointing for me, but hardly a surprise.
I voted for Barack Obama in 2008, then lost my job in the Great Recession. I was lucky; my brother lost his job and his house. I survived on part-time jobs while paying out-of-pocket for my health insurance.
I voted for President Obama again in 2012, then received a cancellation notice for my health insurance. This was due to ObamaCare, the so-called Affordable Care Act. However, I couldnt afford anything else.
Midterm elections in the second term of a presidency are difficult on the presidents party, and the Obama administrations crisis-of-the-month headlines werent helpful. Ultimately, though, ObamaCare was the catalyst for my partys midterm thumping.

I thought it was perfectly appropriate and well said.
Other people getting screwed is OK. But not OK when it hits home. Tough luck pal.
I think he was addressing the writer of the article ...
Exactly. He wants single payer. Which was supposedly the Democratic plan all along. Yeah, Obamacare is so screwed up that we need single payer. Trust us....we’ll get it right this time. [/s]
OK. That clears it up. Thank you.
He hasn’t given up on collectivism. And he hasn’t given up on wanting some other form of collectivised healthcare implemented.
May collectivism end quickly.
Absolutely not!!!
How about Lentinula edodes?
This fool hasn’t learned a thing.
“We Democrats need to get over ourselves, start anew on a national health-care policy, and return to our progressive principles. We claim to be the party of the underdogs, but on ObamaCare we simply catered to a different set of fat cats.”
It’s been a while!
Unfortunately, the genie can’t be put back in the bottle. Rats wrecked it. Hopefully, some adults will find a way to restore something resembling quality health care at a semi-reasonable cost.
For the second year in a row, my policy has been canceled. A comparable replacement policy has a 60% premium increase, up to $740/month. Affordable, my butt.
I think they’re just really P.O’d about Obamacare, don’t take it personally.
Beave Meister has a severe deficiency in interfacing with reality .... probably drinks or drugs too much.
Give things a little time :-)
Some chickens are coming home to roost....
