FULL TITLE: Florida set to execute man who has been on death row for 22 years for raping and murdering his 10-year-old stepdaughter and her mother
A Florida Panhandle man is set to be executed tomorrow for raping and murdering his 10-year-old stepdaughter 22 years ago, just minutes after he killed her mother.
Chadwick Banks, 43, is scheduled to die at 6pm Thursday at Florida State Prison in Starke for the 1992 slaying of Melody Cooper, who was found on her knees naked from the waist down and her body slumped on her bed at their Gadsden County trailer home.
The body of her mother, Cassandra Banks, was found nearby.
Both had been shot in the head.
Banks, who was 21 at the time, is serving a life sentence for his wife's murder.

Justice delayed is not justice. 22 years. More than twice the lifespan of the innocent child. If he wasn’t on death row for all those years but instead out in the general population, would justice have been served quicker?

Excellent movie! I saw it on TV many years ago and finally found it as a DVD and purchased it. Have shown it to all my friends and family. Gruesome story but with a great ending. It’s Russia, though, so we can not ever expect such swift justice in our own country.

Yeah, that was one of many great scenes. Col. Fetisov got that commissar later on though - I almost clapped.

Tragic, isn’t it, that it takes so long to end the life of murderous bastards in this state. I’m STILL waiting for the end of one of Tampa’s worst murderers, who slaughtered several women in the 80s, to meet his end. He’s had trial after trial and still lives on and on and on.

It’s Oscar Ray Bolin. My own daughter was hysterical on the day they discovered the body of his third victim, Terry Lynn Matthews. My daughter was a friend and co-worker of Miss Matthews. You can get Bolin’s history on Google.

I just looked up the statistics on the FBI website. You (unfortunately) could not be more far off.
Forcible Rape: 65% White compared to 32.9% Black.
Sex Offenses: 72.6% White compared to 24.9% Black
Offenses against Children: 65% White compared to 32.2% Black.
The last update was 2011 so the numbers are a little dated but I highly doubt they literally doubled over the past 3 years.
Also, the obvious point is, these are the ones who have been caught.

That’s a lot of crime for 12% of the population. Actually, looking at males only it’s 6% of the population.

I looked it up and now I remember. Her body was found not too far from where we lived.
Definitely not playing with a full deck. But legally insane...?
Does anyone know about murders that took place in a furniture store in Florida in the 70s. I read an article about the guy who was convicted, and as far as I know is still on death row? I can’t seem to search out this guy or find him on the Internet.
