THR pays tribute to Hollywood figures who died this year.
Slideshow at link.
We lost a lot of old-time stars this year, and some I hadn't heard about...................
You know you are getting close to Christmas and New Years when the Media starts focusing on celebrity deaths of that year....
And there’s still a month and a half to go.
Keep trying, Hollywood.
And a veteran too....
whom I will always think of as this guy:
No “Mrs. Wolowitz” (Carol Ann Susi)?
Yeah, as we approach Christmas, the media turn their attention to the death of... celebrities. Go figure.
Probably be a bunch more - still seven weeks left in the year.
“Shoot, don’t talk!”
Tuco!!! Loved him. I am dreading the day we lose Eastwood. Stinks to know that could be at any time, at this point.
Too recent...................
(Actually the image I posted is from The Magnificent Seven, not Tuco from TGTBATU)
Actually, I don’t mind these yearly roundups of celebrity deaths. I hardly read the paper and watch TV news only sporadically. So I might not know a favorite actor from years ago has passed until these retrospectives are published.
Yeah, but Eli will always be Tuco in the hearts of his fans. It was his iconic role. As someone said above, "Shoot, don't talk...."
George did not take her to the Vandelay Industries Christmas party.
Notables people who’ve accomplished something of value, or more celebrity drivel?
Whenever I look at these things I get Jim Carroll’s “Those Are the People Who Died” playing in my head.
Some greats, some not-so-greats, and some unknown outside H’wood.......................
My dad was transferred to Oklahoma in the middle of my junior year of high school to a small town. One of my friends learned that James Garner was visiting a family one evening. Four of us went to the house, and one of the girls asked if we could see Maverick. He expressed regret through the hostess but sent out four autographs. I’ve lost my autograph over the years, but I’ve always had genuine respect for Mr. Garner.
Stars nowadays would charge you for them......................
