Dog shot dead by SWAT team during alleged dispute over neighborhood dog waste
A small dog was filmed being shot by advancing police officers in Racine, Wisc. on Saturday after police were called about violent threats made by the dog's owner, said a neighbor. Police Chief Art Howell said the owner threatened to kill the officers with an armor-piercing crossbow before setting his dog loose.
A SWAT team sent to handle an alleged neighborhood dispute over dog waste ended up killing the dog, and igniting a firestorm of criticism against the local police force.
In dramatic video capturing the end of Saturday's hours-long standoff involving Racine, Wisc. police, a small dog is seen being shot dead by a line of approaching officers moments after set loose.
Neighbor Kim Polk described the shooting as the result of one irate resident refusing to pick up after his dog when confronted by her, and then violently threatening to kill her own pooch.
It was that threat, first with a bow and arrow and then with a machete, that she said led to her family calling 911 and a SWAT team approaching the man's home.

Cops aren’t heroes anymore.
After long, low-intensity wars, soldiers become cops and cops become soldiers.
Sounds like the neighbor from hell, but still, sending the SWAT team is a little extreme. The animal could have easily been dog-knapped by the neighbors (and sent to live elsewhere). Problem solved ... except the dog-owner would probably still be a violent menace to the neighborhood.
A dog problem is always a dog owner problem.
Don’t think I can watch that video. Sounds like a bad situation but I’m sick of Police killing dogs.
Wisconsin old guy has pallets stacked in front yard (his biz is fixing pallets)—looks bad.
Town calls out 44-man SWAT team with MRAP —fancy, flashy raid by guys with SEAL Team 6 fantasies.
Charges him $86,000 for clean-up. Made-up?
2010 shown. How much worse in 2014?
saw the video.
this sh1t is why more and more people hate cops. and won’t help them when shtf.
just militarized jackbooted thugs.
Fecking pigs.
I hope someday they get theirs. Someday they’ll train their weapons on someone who can shoot back.
Personally, was it necessary to shoot that little dog, even if it was not on a leash?
The whole thing could have been avoided by being a considerate neighbor and picking up the dog waste. Also, avoid threatening bodily harm to others; nothing good can come out of it.
Paws up. Don’t poop.
Don't let your kids play with cops' kids.
Cops don't like us.
Armor piercing arrow??? You gotta be kiddin’ me...
Interesting that the guy was threatening to use an armor piercing crossbow bolt. I have been wondering about taking hardened steel broad head tips and screwing them into the cavity of a JHP. It seems logical since you know the weight of the JHP in grains and the weight of the broadhead tip in grains, you could easily work up a safe load that would just shred soft body armor.

So the actions of the dog’s owner was why the dog was shot.
Too bad the usual anti-cop agitators will portray it otherwise.
The shot that tiny little thing?
As he was bouncing away?
WTF?
Dittos to your thoughts. This is the most senseless and unwarranted doggy slaughter yet. Poor little guy. Just unreal. (Don’t view the video FReepers if you want to keep your B/P nice and low.)
And maybe he's telling the truth.
Maybe
