After Negative Ebola Test, Quarantined Nurse Criticizes Treatment at Newark Airport
A nurse who tested negative for the Ebola virus but remained under a 21-day quarantine in a Newark hospital on Saturday is angry and frustrated with how she was treated when she returned to the United States from West Africa.

If the nurse is considered a hyphenated American, chances are she’ll get some money out of this.
If we didn’t live in bizarro-world she would never have been allowed to return until she was cleared.
Damned if you, damned if you don’t.
ok, here we go.
A policy which strives to identify and quarantine at risk individuals is discrimination, because it apparently identified someone who didn’t have Ebola.
So, are we now to be told, that we can’t do any screenings, because the screening itself violates constitutional rights? Is that where we are at???
Just because she complains, doesn’t make her right.
Given the time frame, looks she has not been here for the past 6 weeks experiencing all the ebola stuff with us.
NEW YORK (AP) Officials in three states have enacted 21-day quarantines for any travelers arriving back in the United States after having contact with Ebola patients in West Africa. But they've said little about exactly how they'll enforce such strict rules.
What an entitled woman.
At least she’s admitted she only does charity work for the accolades.
She was late for a big bowling date!
We’ve jumped the shark when a dominos pizza maker is ambulanced away from his job with high fever and vomiting.
Any American who is being detained is owed an explanation. Period
So if you are detained without cause you wouldn’t be upset?
If the airport security people were rude to her, they need to be trained in better behavior toward passengers.
However, I am tired of reading and hearing passengers complain that they are questioned and then tested for fever when they come off a plane from west Africa. Has this woman been living on an isolated island?
This nurse is a typical candidate for bringing in Ebola virus to the USA. She ought to be happy she had no actual fever, and be willing to self-quarantine herself for 21 days.
Quit whining all the time.
Every time I read something like this I am reminded of the OPPOSITE, St. Fr. Damien of Hawaii.
He knew that if he went to the Kaluapapa Peninsula on Molokai to minister to the lepers, he would not be able to return to Honolulu, as the law at the time put the Leper Colony under strict quarantine.
Yet, he did go, and contracted the disease. He died among the people he willingly went to serve.
We now know that Hanson’s Disease (Leprosy) is not nearly as communicable as was thought at the time. However, based upon the state of medicine in the 19th Century and the limited knowledge of the disease, Fr. Damien knew what he was getting into and did it anyway.
And THAT’s why he has been canonized as a Saint in the Catholic Church.
I have no doubt that he is indeed a saint in heaven and right now is enjoying life everlasting in the presence of God. (I am an Evangelical, BTW)
Even if he had never been officially canonized, he is beloved of the Hawaiian People, and everybody remembers and loves him.
And THAT, my FRiends, is what Real Charitible Medical Missionary Work really looks like.
JMO.
After Negative Ebola Test, Quarantined Nurse Criticism of Treatment at Newark Airport get a response of too bad! Go complain to your collegue doctor buddy that took subway rides, went bowling and a night out on the town while infected with Ebola.
Are these people completely brain dead?
Bump to that!
Tell her if she has ebola, she'll have to fend for herself...and then see what she says.
In the meantime, the quarantine makes sense.
The premise of your question is "without cause" and there was cause. She has no grounds to be upset whatsoever.
if they wont atop flights from ebololand how about a tax per ticket to pay for screening etc say $1000 a ticket oh that would be racist asking users to pay their share...
