She did not get permission from the CDC.
The key piece of the story.
But Tom Frieden said she DID CALL CDC in his testimony.
Someone probably thought they said that the came from the Library!
If English is not your first language, please do not rewrite headlines.
“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that Vinson called the agency several times before flying, saying that she had a fever with a temperature of 99.5 degrees. But because her fever wasnt 100.4 degrees or higher, she didnt officially fall into the group of high risk and was allowed to fly.

CBS News Medical Correspondent Dr. John LaPook reports that Vinson called the CDC several times before boarding the plane concerned about her fever.
This nurse, Nurse Vinson, did in fact call the CDC several times before taking that flight and said she has a temperature, a fever of 99.5, and the person at the CDC looked at a chart and because her temperature wasnt 100.4 or higher she didnt officially fall into the category of high risk, said Dr. LaPook on the CBS Evening News.
Mr Vinson said that 29-year-old Amber didn’t contact the CDC, despite reports from the agency that she had, because she was not told to. He added that she had followed the guidelines of self-monitoring her temperature
Miss Vinson did contact Texas health officials as she had been told to do, who contacted the CDC on her behalf and relayed the information back that she was safe to travel on Monday as her 99.5F fever was beneath the 100.4 threshold.
Are you upset this story was posted ?.
Odd how so many posters are attacking me over this story ?..
Get a grip lefty!
Are you a Obama bot ?
Excuse my ignorance - but the video of Nina Pham
- If that room is an isolation room, I’ll eat my shirt. And there are plenty of nooks and crannies for germs to hide that will not necessarily get decontaminated.

below - what an ebola isolation room should look like - take a page from the Brits?

I saw this guy interviewed live. He indicated that she contacted the people in Texas that she was supposed to call, who said they would have to talk to the CDC. They relayed that the CDC said it was ok.
So I don’t really see how that lets the CDC off the hook.
In addition, while I think that she showed poor judgement getting on the plane-I think that the rules regarding public transportation was probably not made clear either.
After all, if people from West Africa can travel freely on Planes, why would an American be restricted? And we were told that you can’t get it on a bus. It’s foolish. Of course there should be travel restrictions for all.
If I had been in her shoes, I can’t say for sure that I would have volunteered to take care of such a patient-especially since I have done a lot of reading and research-I sure as heck would have refused to do it in such limited protection as the standard isolation garb provided.
The CDC, Government, and Hospital Administration failed big time, and lots of people are paying the price.
Thank you. Clearly most people here just post away without even reading the article. The CDC was contacted, just not directly by her. Really a non story.
I don’t care about the CDC.
They are a disaster and politicized .
I work in healthcare and have a Dallas office.
You could not get away from the 24-7 news that people at the hospital were told to stay isolated from the public for up to 21 days after exposure.
She knew and ignored it.
.
The Obama regime already got to the family..Obama doesn’t want his beloved CDC to look bad so they are once again putting the sole blame on Amber and her family..I dont believe she was sick when she went to Cleveland she would have been dead by the time she arrived back to Dallas..the Bridal Shop owner confirmed that Amber NEVER once coughed, never sneezed when she was at her shop and she stood within 5 feet of her the whole time helping her find dresses
Clearly you are spinning away ,
Who do you work for ?
Not convinced either way. I think the Cleveland nurse misbehaved. She may have misbehaved more than she admitted. Holding up my hands-- "Don't infect! Don't infect!"
This is why you need an experienced spin-artist like Ron Klain as Ebola Czar, to sift through all the conflicting reports and provide the most favorable version to the public while concealing the truth
‘I hope she did not get suck some low information clown walking around sick and thinking its allergies.’
I for one appreciate that you posted this story. It’s been enlightening. However, I wonder if you could decode the above quote?
Thanks.
The DM is no friend of Obamaor the CDC.
This licensed nurse broke quarantine period and got on a plane.
It makes them all look bad.
There are alot of people who don’t watch the news or read .
If the Kardasians are not involved then they are clueless.
One of these people in could have crossed paths with this person and been exposed at a 7-11
The article states “Miss Vinson did contact Texas health officials as she had been told to do, who contacted the CDC on her behalf and relayed the information back that she was safe to travel on Monday as her 99.5F fever was beneath the 100.4 threshold. ”
I sincerely doubt that any Healthcare worker in Dallas was given a number to call at the CDC. I assume she called the number that she was given. She is a victim. She was told that she was safe by the CDC. The entire administration and government is guilty of not protecting us. I pray that both Miss Vinson and Miss Pham make a complete recovery and no one else is infected.
What is the difference in her calling the CDC directly or the Texas hospital calling the CDC on her behalf? The end result was the same.
Now if you have a problem with her getting on the plane in the first place then I agree with you, somebody in her position should have known better. But that is not what the headline is about.
