Thomas Eric Duncan, who had ebola , flew into this country from Liberia and mingled and interacted with family, friends and others.
After a few days here he got so sick from ebola, he went to the Hospital in Dallas, but was sent home because he was misdiagnosed.
About 4 more days of mingling with others while still showing the symptoms, he was so sick he went back to the Dallas hospital by ambulance.
The CDC estimates about 84 people in Dallas had contact with him one way or the other.
Additionally the people on the airplanes he flew in could be possible ebola targets. Thats a lot of people in total.
Yet the only people that came in contact with him that have come down with ebola symptoms are 2 nurses at the Dallas Hospital. ((And they supposedly wore protective gear.)
Statistically , why arent there more infections?? This seems strange to me. -Tom
Happens every election as it is, votes whether trunk of car pulled out of a hat more voters than registrants, they get away with it everywhere. We did get a few for voter fraud in not too far from me, see I don't know how that turned out. Did they shove it down the rat hole when we were immersed in other issues? Now that horrid Supreme Court decision about voter ID.
It's mostly on purpose; some is the roll of the dice nobody foresaw because the best of criminals can't always imagine the ultimate outcome. The best we can hope for now is damage control. I really can't envision any scenario by which the damage done by the Democrats and some by Republicans can be rolled back.
They aren't working for us. Prepare for the worst, hope for better.
Seems very strange
Great.....in the meantime....where are they - really? Where is this so called gated community? With EVERYONE posting EVERYTHING on social media, why not one peep out of this family?
Good one.
Where is the GF from? Is she from Africa, could she have already been exposed to Ebola? Immune to it? or not develop the infection? Same with all viruses, a good portion of the population never gets sick after exposure.
Beats me. Maybe there’s not much news from them right now. Other than, “So, Louise, what’s your temperature this morning?” They’re grieving, people are (understandably) quite angry with them, and I’m genuinely not sure what they could contribute to the current events unfolding. Other than “My temp is 98.6. So are the temps of the rest of the quarantine crew.”
As for their location, I’m not sure it’d be wise for the public to know that. Just my 2 cents.
It isn’t as easy to catch as many things, like cold or flu viruses, so we are “lucky” in that regard. I expect more cases will be imported soon enough.
They are at their most contagious in the latter stages when they are melting down. The dudes family needs to be deported as soon as they come out of quarantine as they are illegal aliens. Send this crap back where it came from
“Its as though the only way to catch ebola is to wear a protective suit.”
That, and being in contact with them when they begin to liquify
Oh, hadn't you heard?? Duncan got his visa in August, thanks to the administration's change in policy to streamline visa requests from west Africa (implemented after ebola hit the urban centers):
http://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2014/10/17/wow-obama-adminstration-started-streamlining-visas-from-west-africa-in-august-at-height-of-ebola-crisis-n1906576
You’re an idiot.
Also I am sure the ambulance people wouldn't have arrived wearing protective gear.
So several more ambulance people were closely exposed.
I get the impression that ebola is hard to spread, or we have to wait beyond 21 days to see if their are any repercussions beyond those 2 nurses. - tom
This thread should be alternatively-titled “Ebola Sanity Thread”.
I’ve been calling this all overblown hype for a couple weeks now. I didn’t hear Rush’s show today, but it’s pleasant to see unemotional observations.
The attention needs focused on our absentee government, including those politicians that are staying silent on the matter (for SOME reason).
If government cannot secure the borders and protect the population from a disease that heretofore was isolated to ANOTHER CONTINENT (until THEY brought it here...they might as well written invitations by extending Visas to Liberians)...
...[ ]
Why they want the panic is another matter altogether.
"A new report published at Breitbart shows the Obama administration started expediting visas from West Africa in August as the Ebola was (and still is) raging out of control with a 70 percent mortality rate. According to the report, the man who died from Ebola in a Texas hospital after visiting Liberia, had his visa approved in the same month visas were being streamlined." - Tom
Truly....
I still haven't seen anything that would indicate Duncan's visa was affected by the policy. In fact, the wording kind of implies that his visa was approved before it went into effect.
Here's an approximate timeline.
June, he starts applying for a visa.
Late August, visa approved.
September 2, ticket purchased.
September 4, quits job.
September 15, exposed to Ebola. The people dealing with the girl reportedly thought she was having complications of pregnancy.
September 18, Duncan leaves Liberia.
The timeline simply doesn't allow for him deciding to come to America after knowing he was sick.

“It should be paramount to the administration that the risk of infection be isolated outside our borders.”
That is the ticket. Our politicians, on the other hand, are trying to be politically correct as usual
Absolutely true.
However, Youngor Jallah, Duncan's stepdaughter who had called 911 ("my daddy is going to the bathroom constantly"), upon greeting them at the door, told them to suit up before entering, because of "the virus."
increased viral growth and titration while in hospital?
