This hymn was written by a Scottish pastor named Henry Francis Lyte as he died. I have always found great comfort in it and offer it for consideration this Sunday morning:

Abide with me; fast falls the eventide; The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide. When other helpers fail and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, O abide with me.

Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day; Earth’s joys grow dim; its glories pass away; Change and decay in all around I see; O Thou who changest not, abide with me.

Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word, But as Thou dwell’st with Thy disciples, Lord, Familiar, condescending, patient, free. Come not to sojourn, but abide with me.

Come not in terrors, as the King of kings, But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings; Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea. Come, Friend of sinners, thus abide with me.

Thou on my head in early youth didst smile, And though rebellious and perverse meanwhile, Thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee. On to the close, O Lord, abide with me.

I need Thy presence every passing hour. What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s power? Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.

I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless; Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness. Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory? I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.

Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes; Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies. Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee; In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

This hymn has made my day, thanks.

A White House official told CNN that Homeland Security Adviser Lisa Monaco briefed President Obama on the second Dallas Ebola case.

Thanks. I believe that is what I use for organics when spraying.

> It never infected any of the dozen or so people who worked there caring for the monkeys.
> Untrue. One of the Reston monkey handlers tested positive for Ebola Reston antibodies... but he was asymptomatic.

You are right. Humans got it, had no symptoms, but developed antibodies.

When watching/listening to these pressers, pay attention to the mismatches between what they are saying, and what they are doing.

For example, they have repeatedly told us that people are not contagious to others until they have symptoms, such as vomiting, bleeding, diarrhea, etc. That Duncan couldn’t have infected anyone until he became symptomatic.

Yet, when this nurse shows up with a temp, but no other symptoms, they rush to close down her apartment building, decontaminate the public areas, her car, the parking lot, the bannisters, and shut down the ER.

Something here seems odd. What do they know/suspect that they are not telling us?

They have 20 some-odd beds in the hospital wing being set aside for Ebola patients?

If I were a “citizen-journalist”, I would get a team of like-minded people together and stake out the entry points to that hospital, to see if and when ambulances arrive...

It is possible that Duncan’s “family” members may start showing up there, or be there already, with nothing said publicly - to prevent panic, of course! The “judge”, Mayor, and Doctor did have that “deer in the headlights” look about them.

How many more of the health care workers that cared for Duncan are going to develop symptoms?

Or the suit was not decontaminated after prior use.

Another question would be are the majority of ones getting sick are foreigners or native African healthcare workers. It’s been speculated that West Africans may have some immunities built up or they have a gene mutation.

If the Obola Administration wants a shred of credibility, don't let Frieden be the public face/spokesman of the CDC.

His speech, face, gestures belong in slash and gash movies.

nobody at the other hospitals that received and cared for the 2 Americans flown over here have contracted the virus and that perhaps we should divert any Ebola cases to only certain hospitals which are set up to more readily and safely care for these cases

Except ding dong Frieden said any ol' podunk hospital could handle Ebola.

I did some checking in regards to your statement and you are correct.

http://www.amazon.com/Pack-3M-8210-Particulate-Respirators/dp/B002MLGQR6
“3M 8210 N95 Particulate Disposable Respirator - the “N95” means that if the mask is properly fitted, it will filter out particles down to .3 microns 95 percent of the time. That’s great for particulate matter but not sufficient against flu bugs - yet quite helpful.

The types of viruses that cause respiratory illnesses measure between .1 to .2 microns. That means that while this mask will probably stop most of the flu viruses from getting through, it is not dense enough to stop them all. That is why the product description mentions dust and particulate matter but makes no claim or mention of viruses.”

http://www.engr.psu.edu/iec/abe/database/vFiloE.htm
VIRUS: Filovirus - Ebola

Ebola is a fast-acting deadly virus that is practically identical to Marburg virus. Periodic outbreaks have occured in Zaire, Sudan and Uganda. Transmission between humans occurs by direct contact with infected blood or pulmonary secretions, and by inhalation. Case fatality rates are between 22% and 88%. The ultimate reservoir appears to be rodents, bats, or monkeys.

Size (microns) .05-.30 microns (min)

Now CDC is blaming the nurse- says she must have been careless

I guess "careless"-ness is unusual in human beings.

I’ve posted some pictures of the healthcare workers around the NBC reporter and the deputy in what they consider full on protective garb. Sit down and take a deep breath before viewing. That, my FRiend, is exactly why and how this thing is going to hit the fan.

There is another picture around that shows the deputy’s doctor waiting for him to arrive with a bunch of looky-loos in street clothes standing around. Excuse me, why didn’t the staff tell them to get the blazes out of the area????

Look at Brantley. He took transfusions for about 20% of his bloodstream from ebola survivors, having observed those who became infected in Africa, tended to get grouped in 2 sets; those who beame ill with the flu, but seemed to recover and those who became exponentially worse with Viral Hemorrhagic Fever symptoms.

He surmised some type of antibody for something that appears to be ebola was present in some from that region, but nearly nonexistent in those never so exposed.

IMHO, Duncan might have been safer in Africa with a transfusion than here in a sterile hospital.

I remember the 50s. I remember that most of my older cousins had polio.

I was born in the early 60s. When I first understood what vaccinations were, sometime in the '70s, the 1950s seemed like ancient history. I never considered that I dodged a bullet.

I have to remember this when speaking with 20-somethings.

This new patient presented to the hospital and was admitted on FRIDAY. Nothing was said here in the Dallas area yesterday about a potential case.

I can't see how this wasn't leaked. Do they have a group of doctors and nurses in lock down? The only way to two people can keep a secret is to shoot one of them.

About time he woke up. He seriously needs to get his phone off of vibrate when he sleeps.

On Meet the Press right now all they are doing is talking about the admin is "doing the right thing" by tamping down the fear. Unbelievable.

They're whistling past the graveyard. Good luck to them. They're of no use to us.

You make a good point in theory. Unfortunately we’re not able to get accurate info coming from West Africa at the moment and in SL they’re providing families with home care guidelines and “equipment “ as hospitals and clinics have no more room.
