From Press conference live right now:
The 2nd person who contracted ebola was wearing the full protective gear as recommended by the CDC!
Wow!
On Sept. 28, an ambulance carrying Duncan pulled into the hospitals emergency bay. It was just after 10 a.m. By evening, Duncan was suffering from explosive diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea and projectile vomiting. Shortly before noon on Monday, Sept. 29, Duncan asked the nurse to put him in a diaper, because he feels too tired to keep getting up to the bedside commode. His fever spiked again to 103, and Duncan was wracked with chills.
AND THIS:
Finally, at 2 p.m. on Sept. 30, doctors received the confirmation that all had been dreading: Patient has tested positive for Ebola The staff attending to Duncan traded their gowns and scrubs for hazmat suits and attendants would scrub the room with bleach.
The evidence (such as it is) does NOT suggest that. The Sawyer plane, the higher attack rate among HCWs than gen pop, the fact that the family in Texas are not sick (yet) are all facts AGAINST airborne transmission.
What's your evidence that says otherwise?
You mean like a shower in carbolic acid or something like that? How about gaseous formaldehyde or chlorine? Water won’t work.
ah save them bullets, Laz. The zombies ... The zombies ... Save them bullets.
Well since she wasn’t part of the high-risk group she wasn’t being monitored officially and they probably told her the risk to her was very minimal. So when she started to feel under the weather she stayed home from work but upon developing a fever she called and got brought in for testing.
so possibly a 26 hour period where workers were not using the “appropriate” ppe?
That’s what the article says, anyway, based on medical records.
Maybe the person was in hazmat gear all along, but the article says not.
This would then apply to all kinds of people and equipment in the hospital, right down to the food tray, you know?
And easy to cure, not everyone who gets it dies. We were told that the problem was poor procedures and cultural differences in Africa.
Especially that smug jerk “dr” on Fox News, Bernie Seigel, claiming it is hard to get and isn’t very contagious despite people with full protective gear catching it. Keeps making excuses as to why it is spreading. Latest excuse is now they aren’t careful enough in removing protective gear so they catch it that way, but still if it isn’t very contagious and not “airborne” then there should be no problems right?
I want to hear from all the freepers (or trolls) who said people were overreacting to the Ebola threat.
That post scared me ... Does someone need to call? Please tell me you are humoring us, please.
What USED TO BE on the Web page of the CDC as of 8/2/14:
In this guidance healthcare personnel (HCP) refers all persons, paid and unpaid, working in healthcare settings who have the potential for exposure to patients and/or to infectious materials, including body substances, contaminated medical supplies and equipment, contaminated environmental surfaces, or contaminated air.

Transmission of Ebola virus from pigs to non-human primates
A study conducted in 2012 showed that Ebola was able to travel between pigs and monkeys that were in separate cages and were never placed in direct contact.
I guess we can expect to hear from Barry in three two one....
Buzz buzz buzzzzzzzz.....nothing.
And that’s because he is so handsome, he can’t speak properly.
OH MAN!! No more Beers after work!!
Sounds like some are right here more or less still saying that.
So it is an airborne disease at least within the confines of a protected space. Don’t know how well it spreads outdoors since UV rays probably kill it.
If it were airborne, we would have millions of cases by now.
Dang you Laz. I’m on you like white on rice. Will start pinging if no reply.
