All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:
That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.
A few items...

Sparkle is still rather shy about prolonged close contact, but she is coming around. So far, she hasn’t allowed my face to get close to hers, so it will be a while before I can give her a nose boop.
I will tell her you sent one, though!
Quaffing makes me swallow air.
How do they stay so clean when they come from the forest?
It’s all baby steps, or paw steps I guess for kittehs.
Sparkle is getting lots of love from her human and from her FRiends on line.
Tell Sparkle I’ve been weaning I’m taking baby steps too in healing and at the rate I’m going she might have a new kitteh on line friend by the Spring or Sumer Solstice.
Maybe the Keebler elves work their cookie magic on them. They live in hollow trees in the forest.
I would like a cookie. Three months without a cookie makes me cranky.
Hot seat. Hot foot. Lighting a fire under someones behind. “Moving like their hair was on fire and their a$$es were catching...”...
Testing the incendiary characteristics of my new lothbroks...
Fun. :-)
Sounds more like a chug to me. To each their own. ;-)
Why do I think Anoreth would be able to help you in your quest?
I’ll drink to that! *she sez, hoisting a glass of Guinness*
Evening, all. A very busy day, so far, and it’s still three hours until the little children’s bedtime.
DP is listening to a recording of “The Snow Queen,” for reasons which escape me. I’ve read it to the children several times. The version in the library has good pictures.
I’ve been fighting with this computer for the last three hours. It has been updating, accepting, applying and utilizing all the things it wants me to have. And me, I’m not computer literate enough to know when to tell it to shut up and sit down.
I haven’t been able to access my home page so had no idea what was on TV, and then I changed to the PBS channel...right now the Irish Boys’ Choir is singing me Christmas carols that make my eyes leak. The little whippersnappers.
At this point, I’m thinking bed may be looking good. I don’t need to cry. I’ve done enough this season.
I’m thinking exactly the same thing, but I have at least another hour before I can go to bed. Tom shut the gas off to the water heater, so now we have no hot water. DP’s trying to get it back on.
I think I need some Pink Drink. Shall I walk or drive? Or shall I stay home?
Today has been like something out of Kafka. Maybe I need to watch a couple of episodes of “Downton Abbey.” PBS has an opera on, and even with subtitles, I’m having a hard time listening...
It’s about the night of the Christmas Truce in 1914.
Isn’t there a Youtube video of snow falling, or something like that, with soothing whoosh sounds? But instead, I have a background natter of boys with Magic: The Gathering cards, “Lilo & Stitch” on in the living room, and the washer. Fortunately, I do the laundry in cold ...
DP has called the plumbing company for advice. Following the directions in the manual hasn’t worked.
There, it’s fixed.
If it’s not one darn thing, it’s two darn things!
He was helping? That course is taught by a cat...
LOL! He was supposed to turn the water supply on. (It had been turned off to persuade Sally out of the shower.) Instead, he turned the gas off.
Like cats, my family members do not like to admit an incapacity. It would never have crossed his mind, when I said, “Turn the water back on in about ten minutes,” to say, “How do I do that?”
So I’ve heard...
DP found, in the pantry, a nice white wine, using a Russian-stock grape, from Daveste Vineyard in Statesville. We stopped there on our way home from the Yadkin Valley in November. They are one of only a few vineyards in the U.S. growing this grape, Rkatsiteli.
