Recent Mars Images (Marvin the Martian throws down the kaboom in a guest zot)

Posted on 10/08/2014 10:49:46 AM PDT by aardwolf46

All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:

That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.

A few items...

JPL uncensored video showing large-scale structure:

Raw JPL video:

Electrical device of some sort with helical coil wound around it
Device is on the left, about a third of the way down on the image

Gear of some sort.

Wheel - axle device

Raw NASA/JPL image:

Howdy been below zero here for a week, double digits. Way to early for us.

We had a wind chill of 31 this morning, and that was cold enough for me, though I know it’s just the beginning of the cold for this winter.

Stay warm!

I got another four pages dictated, but it’s slow going. I forgot how to use it, and since I had to install an upgrade when I got the new computer, it is still learning my speech patterns, so for now, I need to exercise patience and keep plugging.

However, I need to get it done. I have so many volumes sitting around that really DO need to be put onto CD-ROM. My parents left nothing much. My mother, nothing. My dad, a few paragraphs and a letter. I want my kids to know more about me.

So I’m working on it.

Wow cold for you. Hey I took Fredd out last night and fed the flying squirrels at 8pm and it was 4 degrees out, came back in the house and told mrcold one it was warmer outside.....LOL It had been 8 below the last time I had taken fredd out.

Never thought I see the day when 4 degrees was a bit warmer for me!!!

***HUGS***

Good for you.

My kids already know too much about me.

One of them keeps threatening to go to the DA. So far it’s an empty threat because no DA would ever believe him.

Drunken armor also doesn’t do as well as sober armor.

Getting the bolt holes to line up is also more difficult on drunken armour.

Congratulations! I went to Walmart. Now I’m planning to go to the library. It’s not raining for now.

It also tends to pick fights with the rest of the gear, and says unkind things in a rambling fashion.

It’s supposed to be below freezing tonight here, but the rain will stop.

The family seems to be coming down with a cold.

Rain all day. Supposed to be clear and cold tomorrow.

Well, cold for here, anyway.

I hear people complain and I say, “It’s New York. It’s November. That’s what happens here.”

I guess people complain so much up here because it’s not regulated by the government and it’s free.

We had snow the other day, Thursday, and yesterday some flurries before the rain/freezing rain started.

Is it still raining? Sunny here, but only 53 degrees. *brrrrrr*

After dictating this morning and taking a break, I almost wanted to do it again. But then I decided that I might be too tired to do it justice, since it took me almost two hours to dictate and edit four pages (in the Word program.)

Maybe tomorrow, I will try early and late morning dictations. I think I will have to decide ahead of time how many written pages to do, so that I don’t get too tired.

My kids think they know all about me, but they don’t. All they really know is what someone else has told them, and they are oddly satisfied with that. I would have been all over whoever gave me info about my parents with endless questions. You know: A fool can ask more questions than a wise man can answer.

Busdadddy has a cold, but I don’t see the amount of people on a daily basis that he does. I probably don’t see that many in three months.

He’s very diligent about getting flu shots, but no one has found a cure for the common cold.

(Just heard on the news that there were six fatalities on the freeways in 12 hours. Since it can’t be weather-related, it has to be DUI and/or operatory error.)

We had lots of accidents here, presumably weather-related.

It was raining.

No rain, here. Just scary driving on the local roads. I think I will take the surface streets for a while, at least until this spate of death has run the gamut.

Getting the bolt holes to line up is also more difficult on drunken armour.

Depends.

All you need is a drunken armourer..

...but in a pinch any ol' drunken blacksmithy will do. Spreading chestnut trees optional.
