The soot-smudged flag that flew atop the Capitol on 9/11 was destroyed Friday in a fire at the Flight 93 National Memorial near Shanksville, Penn., less than a month after it arrived in Somerset County.

This government can’t do anything right.
I’m surprised this is the first time anybody has posted about this. I read about it yesterday, and I was impressed primarily by how vague the reporting was: “A fire has destroyed three buildings at the Flight 93 memorial...”
You’d think it would have gotten more reporting than that. The article I read said that the staff was all evacuated safely (these were the administrative headquarters buildings), so I assume that it happened during the day or at some time when there were employees there, although this article mentions night time.
Three relatively new buildings? Is there anything to wonder about?
I agree! Or something “Blessed by the Pope,” which basically means i.e., a thousand rosaries were collected in a room and he blessed them in one gesture.
On the other hand, a bigger waste of time would be flying/signing/blessing the memorabilia one by one!
I think it is a case of arson. By whom? Hard to say.
excellent question. Pentagon, I could believe. Likely dismal reporting.
I remember an analysis of the architectural and landscaping features of the Shanksville memorial that showed that they symbolically, clearly placed the Muslim dead in heaven and the non-Muslims in hell.
It is now.
Are they announcing that they are about to finish burning us down?
I hadn’t read the article, just wondered because of how many flags are “flown over the Capitol” on any given day. Now, having read the article,I’m just plain confused.
The flag that flew over the Capitol that was to be displayed at thre Flt 93 Memorial was “soot-smudged” from fire damage at the Pentagon? What? How does that make sense?
The Capitol is several miles from the Pentagon, and why would a flag flying over the Capitol that wasn’t attacked have damage from the Pentagon that was attacked? Some info definitely confused in this article.
You are very kind.
These days, i don’t put anything past “them”, if you catch my drift.
I do catch your drift. They are totally unaccountable (except to satan), on the fast track, and sending lots of smoke signals.
Thank you SisterK, for your affirmation.
You’re welcome.
There is very precise Bible code. But also, the other side does a LOT of code talking.
Did a search on the distance between the two buildings, and it said 2.83 miles. Not sure if that’s within the range of soot being carried on the air. Perhaps the soot being spread as the result of the plane’s impact, and resulting fires, could make it feasible.
I’ll accept 2.83 miles between the buildings, as the crow or soot flies. By road it’s 4+ miles, with a river in between. And some highways and bridges. And a few parks. And several office buildings. Remember, too, it was a very calm day, blue sunny skies, no high winds.
I pass by both buildings several times a week, and have for nearly 50 years. I really cannot see how soot would travel that distance with all that comes between. Traverse it by Google and see what all is in between.
Now, if the story referred to plain old soot from the air around the Capitol, that’d be a different and more credible story. But a one-day accumulation of soot, even at the Capitol, wouldn’t warrant the drama/hysteria the article emits.
Thanks for the input. You’re there all the time, and I value your judgement. I was initially going to blame the soot on Obama being up on the roof smoking that day, but then he hadn’t been elected to Congress yet. My bad.
Maybe it was anticipatory soot; can’t be worse than 2nd hand smoke!
