The earliest snow spotting in Chicago is Sept. 25, which occurred in 1928 and again in 1944, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday’s snowflakes mark the third earliest snow sighting since the city began recording.

CO2 levels are a lagging indicator, not a leading indicator. Colder temps and lower solar output mean less plant growth, therefore less CO2 uptake, meaning shorter growing seasons, wild and cultivated, hence higher CO2 levels. A new ice age would be totally devastating to animal life (especially US), as compared to planetary warming, because plant life is the foundation of the food chain.

In real terms, we are at the total mercy of a fickle sun.

The global warming cultists will use every sophistry to explain why these historic cold temperatures are really a manifestation of global warming and that this is just a “pause” before the real global warming starts again. The theory that increasing CO2 levels cause warmer temperatures has been thoroughly discredited because despite increased CO2 levels temperatures have not risen and show a downward trend for nearly two decades. None of the climate models remotely predict the actual temperature data.
