Freeper Gefn is in the ER with possibly failing kidneys. She contacted me to ask for your prayers. She'd also appreciate it if you'd post any favorite LOLcritters you might have - she's alone and scared and in a lot of pain, and she really loves them.

Adavair and Ventolin and a very subdued lifestyle brought me through pneumonia.
Hang in there, maybe ask your primary for a Ventolin (rescue inhaler) script. It’s just amazing at restoring free breathing. It used to be called Albuterol, prescribed for asthma.
My prayers are with you.

Ventolin is not Albuterol, but they are both beta-2 sympathomimetics, and both are used as rescue medications in asthma. /pharmacy_student

If I’m not mistaken, Salbutamol, both.
The generic Albuterol was outlawed in the US to save the ozone (read: payola for big pharm).
Ventolin is GSK’s US version with an econazi-friendly propellant and fancy new patent so they can charge 10 times as much.
Advair is more a daily use, steroid contaning concoction.

You’re right - the professor whose handouts I got the information from got the drug names wrong *again*. My bad - I should have double-checked after the first time I caught a mistake in his notes.

More to the point, albuterol = ventolin = proventil, and it is used as a rescue medicine. Advair is fluticasone (a corticosteroid) and salmeterol, a beta-2 adrenergic agonist, and is a maintenance med.

Back to the point... get away from the steroids, and their ugly side effects.
Use the rescue!

Forgive me, but that is a very bad idea. Inhaled corticosteroids have few side effects compared to oral or injected, and overuse of rescue inhalers makes them less effective.
