Was it fear for his own life that prompted Michael Dunn to fire 10 shots into an SUV, killing teenager Jordan Davis? Or was it contempt?
A Jacksonville, Florida, jury couldn't decide last February, getting hung after 30 hours' deliberation. So, on Monday, Dunn goes on trial again.
The prosecution takes another crack at proving first-degree murder in the racially charged case. The shooter, Dunn, is white. Davis, who was 17 years old when he died, was black.
There was an argument about loud music coming from Davis' Dodge Durango before Dunn opened fire in November 2012 at a gas station. He argues that he did so because he saw a gun barrel sticking out of the window and feared for his life.
Michael Dunn: 'I'm the f***ing victim'
"I'm looking out the window, and I said, 'you're not going to kill me you son of a (expletive) and I shot," Dunn has said.

Lawfare against white victims continues, I see.
Well, in this instance I’m not sure the killer was a victim. First trial was a hung jury, and probably for good reasons.
But in California there is a law against loud music of any kind from a vehicle (http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc27007.htm) that I really wish was better enforced.
It doesn’t seem to have been premeditated. They already got him on 3 counts of attempted 2nd degree murder.
Angela Corey strikes again.

I have negative feelings towards people when they roll up beside me at a gas station etc, and think I want to hear their “music”
I do not know all the circumstances in this case??
Heard somewhere he went back to his vehicle to retrieve his weapon. Don’t know if that’s true but it certainly sounds bad for his case if it is.
Oh, man, that LOUD RAP! It is so satanic! We lived in Claremont Ca for a year on a busy street, Indian Hill Blvd, at the traffic light on 10th street. If I had the window open or if I were outside, and a car drove by with open windows, RAP “music” blasting, it was like what I would think they would play in Hell to keep the demons alert. It was AWFUL! Made you angry just to hear it, without hearing the words.
I agree those people are annoying, rude, and something should be done with them.
That “something” doesn’t normally include firing randomly into their car.
He did and he had to dig it out of his glove box....he fired at the car as it was being driven away....this case seems to be one of someone who has a temper and doesn’t know how to control it
And you are not forced to listen to it.....a stop light changes and you move on. You can roll your windows up.
Lots of people don’t like the music I play. While I was taught some manners and try to keep the radio down not all people were brought up that way.
I have found it easier to ignore these kinds of things if I remember a couple of things: 1) I am not in charge; 2) Nothing is forever ; 3) It will change
I figure they have Curt Cobain doomed to eternally replaying "Come As You Are" over and over again.
I hear you
Yup.
Not all cases of whites shooting blacks are just racism in action.
But then they aren’t all justified self-defense either.
If you are going to shoot, you better be sure there’s a gun pointed at you, not just “think there might be.” At least if you’re going to claim self-defense.
You have to have a reasonable fear for your life, not just a notion.
Why should I be forced to listen to it for one second? Keep your sounds in your car.
The guy is a murderer, not a victim.
I thought this guy was convicted? Must be another similar case.
You sound confused about who was the victim.
I guess he was supposed to get shot by the other guy?
How, he shot into the car of some unarmed people sitting and listening to music, and then shot at them as they fled, and then he went on the run hiding from the cops.
Try to learn what happened before you just blindly start defending the murder of black people.
