A very disturbing number of Freepers are openly advocating, on Free Republic threads, for the defeat of Senator Pat Roberts and other good Conservative Republicans. Greg Orman, in Kansas, is a pro abortion, anti gun, tax and spend Liberal Democrat who has given tens of thousands of dollars to Obama and Pelosi and the Democrat Party and Harry Reid. I am called an "idiot" for supporting Roberts. However, I think that those on Free Republic who support Harry Reid and Greg Orman should be ZOTTED, kicked off the site. I have had enough of there hate filled, vindictive, misguided trash.
Again, the “no compromise” crowd in Kansas delayed prolife legislation for decades in Kansas because it did not “save all the babies”.
We finally took Tiller to Court based on NRLC model legislation that Judy Brown, ALL, Nellie Gray and Operation Rescue opposed.
“Defeat the enemy” is the rule of war.
It is also the only workable strategy in politics.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
If an abortionist does not like the legislation? We probably ought to pass the legislation. It is really that simple.
And you have blood on your hands if you actively disagree.
Understood.
However, I am reacting to others telling ME that I do not belong here.
Get it?
If you support MY right to argue with the self destructive purists, then that is a good thing.
I am making decisions about how I spend my time, and FR is not that useful to the conservative cause right now.
Your post is actually encouraging to me.
I don’t see the two as being mutually exclusive. I can be both adamantly pro-Life AND hold the political mechanics view that the best way to get there are incremental steps, starting with holding Dems to the “rare” part of their old (and at this point somewhat abandoned, I’ll admit) “Safe, legal and rare” philosophy.
I can do that right?
One of the reasons we lose to Dems is because they are “progressive”. By that I mean they understand that there’s a desired end goal, but it’s going to take a while to get there. So they constantly chip away, taking a 50% win, or a 25% win or a 10% win knowing that once they have it they’ll immediately go after what they didn’t get.
It has the benefit of having been proven to work, in practice. We have no one to blame for ourselves for not learning from it.
You believe that voting for a liberal simply because he has an “R” label somehow magically makes him not a liberal?
” Again, I dont have to prove Romney is a conservative.”
Do you are admitting that you cannot prove your assertion that my point falls apart if you could provide “one” thing against his massive liberal history, a history that is more than provable?
And people want to keep putting forward rinos.
Amazing, isn’t it?
I just got told “I don’t need to prove”...
Lol.
“You believe that voting for a liberal simply because he has an R label somehow magically makes him not a liberal?”
No.
with all due respect Kansas, care to run that one past Jesus? Are His hands "bloody" in Matthew 18:6?
Really?
Jesus does not disagree with me on this one.
Of that I am sure.
The self righteous “no compromise” crowd has killed more babies than George Tiller, as they have enabled the abortion industry.
I remember pictures of the local ALL “no compromise” leaders sitting at the same table with Tiller’s mouthpiece, at a legislative hearing.
They were all on the same side.
Sorry, opposing abortion does not equate to having blood on ones hands.
” And you have blood on your hands if you actively disagree.”
I disagree wholeheartedly.
And those who support or push abortion on FR, even as an “acceptable evil” in a candidate are compromised in character and integrity.
If you are willing to compromise on that, who and what else will you sell out?
” Jesus does not disagree with me on this one.”
Are you saying Jesus would accept abortion?
Then YOU have blood on YOUR Hands if you would oppose late term abortion restrictions, as the “no compromise” crowd in Kansas did for years.
You have blood on YOUR hands if you oppose parental consent legislation, as the “no compromise” crowd in Kansas did for years.
So you are advocating for abortion on a conservative website?
Jesus does not find fault with a soldier who has to chose who to shoot first. The guy on the hill might kill 10 of his friends. The guy in the valley can only kill one or two. Shoot the guy on the hill first.
Understand?
Politics must be viewed as “war by other means” and we do what we need to do:
TO DEFEAT THE ENEMY!
Which means that we have to pick our battles, and do things which harm the enemies ability to fight. Hurt their income (cut off late term abortion funds) Hurt them legally (require 2nd opinions) Hurt their malpractice insurance coverage (encourage civil lawsuits for unsafe or unclean environments, wrongful death and infections.)
None of these things “supports” abortion.
However, many of the “no compromise” crowd would oppose anything that does not “save all the babies”
Adding a question mark does not make slander or libel ok.
It is not simplistic or absurd.
And you are seriously stating that God himself would be okay with abortion?
The "independent" who will caucus with the entirely pro-death democrats if he wins, appears to be pro-death.
Seems like a no brainer to me.
I have done more for the prolife cause than ANYONE you know.
Do some homework before you post to me again.
Read my profile for starters.
You are being obnoxious.
