“RFEngineer, you are missing a few variables in your calculations....”
I don’t think so. Do tell if you think I am.
WTH??? 0800 mountain time is 1000 eastern time.
Really! I had one guy who bludgeoned me with his theory that lightening proves that there is no such thing as EMP. Don’t ask me to explain his theory, because there isn’t enough tin foil in all the world to make me understand it.
Just don’t catch a ride with Vogons. I hear they have terrible poetry.
And the odds of you getting picked up by another spaceship before suffocation when they throw you into space is 2^276709 to one so hitchhiking with Vogons is definitely out.
GREAT just as the day begins! Could end up being a very long day.
Tomorrow is a darn good day to avoid elevators.
I work for a Wireless Telcom. I am wondering what this will do to our equipment and service.
Hopefully not much will occur to your equipment and service. It’s almost cliché to say hope for the best, plan for the worst.
Space Weather Message Code: WATA50

NOAA Space Weather Scale descriptions can be found at
www.swpc.noaa.gov/NOAAscales
Potential Impacts: Area of impact primarily poleward of 50 degrees Geomagnetic Latitude.
Induced Currents - Power system voltage irregularities possible, false alarms may be triggered on some protection devices.
Spacecraft - Systems may experience surface charging; increased drag on low Earth-orbit satellites and orientation problems may occur.
Navigation - Intermittent satellite navigation (GPS) problems, including loss-of-lock and increased range error may occur.
Radio - HF (high frequency) radio may be intermittent.
Aurora - Aurora may be seen as low as Pennsylvania to Iowa to Oregon.
bttt
So, strongest effects from this solar flare are now anticipated on Saturday instead of tomorrow, but effects will be spread out from tomorrow until Sunday? Isn’t this a little unusual? It has something to do with the smaller flare that occurred beforehand, I’d imagine.
Crap - satellite internet is bad enough w/o old Sol adding to the mix.
Kart has an excellent preparedness manual which I have downloaded on my computer (and parts printed since of course there will be no internet). I know he posts the link from time to time and probably gets tired of having to do so but hey, that’s part of it.
Kart - can you post that link once again for this guy? There are new preppers coming on all the time that need that info.

Think this might be for “The Internet Isn’t Working” ping list interest?
Due to the subject matter of this thread Old Sarge has invoked:
The "The INTERNET isn't working" ping list:
IF you would like "ON' or "OFF the list FReep Mail me OR ping me in a thread with your request. This will not be a High Volume Ping list (Well at least we hope the INTERNET doesn't quit working frequently)
The List: mitch5501; Rocky; Pajamajan; Mad Dawgg; hoosiermama; SE Mom; null and void; BenLurkin; bigheadfred; redhead; berdie; Old Sarge; wyokostur; GeronL; TheOldLady; ducttape45; Gefn; IYellAtMyTV; Redcitizen
All listers standby. The Internet may go down at any moment due to a huge electromagnetic storm hurtling towards Earth.
If such happens we will be notified and will be able and ready to "NOT USE THE INTERNET"!
This is HUGH:
So set your BEEBERS to STUNE:
oops...
never mind...
