These Lincolns are all sold of course, but look at what $5K coulda got ya.
The 4th generation Lincoln Continental is one of the most recognizable Lincoln cars from any era. The 1961-1969 Continental has seen lots of screen time, from its use in the only recorded assassination of a US President to its feature in such films as Goldfinger & The Matrix. With all of this publicity it is surprising for us to find a seemingly good condition example for a seriously fair price. Find this
1962 Lincoln Continental Sedan for sale in Portland, OR for $5500 via craigslist.
Big thanks to tip from Ian.
In 1970 the introduction of the Lincoln Continental on a shared chassis with the Ford LTD and Mercury Marquis put an end to 50 years of Lincoln independence. As soon as the full sized Lincoln shared a chassis and power-plant with a similar sized Ford, the inevitable creep towards badge engineering turned Lincoln from an upscale luxury car builder to a punchline for jokes. Find this
1971 Lincoln Continental Town Car for sale in Dublin, CA for $5,500 via craigslist.
Tip from Kaibeezy.
Where do you even begin with a car like this? The standard car blog lead-in procedure documented in ISO 9001 protocol B117 is to start with a blurb about the history of the make, marque, or model. But...do I talk about Ford, Lincoln, F-250, or Continental? All I know is that when the Kennedy grandkids get married to the Duck Dynasty nephew-kids (they met on Kentuk-e-harmony.com where
the quality of your date is all relative) this is what they will drive home from the wedding. Find this
1966 Lincoln Continental Truck currently bidding on ebay for $2,000 reserve-not-met with 5 days to go, located in Lynnfield, MA.
Tip from Ignacio.
The 4th generation slab-sided Lincoln Continental is an automotive icon - famous for its roll in the Kennedy assassination as it is for its trademark suicide doors long before it was used as a getaway car in the Matrix. Produced from 1960-1969, today it is a hipster's dream car and well kept or restored examples trade well above $20k, so its surprising and nice to see one for DT prices. We are happy to give a quick glimpse of this
1964 Lincoln Continental hardtop project for sale in Los Angeles, CA for $3500 via craigslist.
There are many items that require careful measurement before purchase to check for fit, such as shoes, furniture or colossal boats like a 70s Lincoln. Find this
1971 Lincoln Continental Mk III with rare sunroof for $2,500 in Dallas TX via craigslist. With this boat there are two things you need to carefully measure, the length of your garage and then distance to your nearest fuel station. A miscalculation in either one could have you seriously regretting this purchase.
Tip from Jimboz.

I had a 1977 Town Coupe once upon a time. It was a great car, a real cruiser.
This isn't mine, but it looked almost identical, color and all.

FWD, yes. Ahead of its time, and a very curious machine in its day.
If I was going to go for tail happy, I wouldn’t choose the MK III - there were so many others of that day you could do that with.
These were quiet but extraordinarily powerful machines that that even beat the crap out of muscle cars in rare times of anger, while not cheap trash that you beat on daily. Eldo was absolutely silky and pulled under all conditions, including snow.

That’s what my grandfather always drove. Big old Buick and Cadillac boats. He was able to maneuver them up and down his tiny concrete-walled driveway with amazing ease.
All of them suffered from GM squealing water pump disease.
You could hear him coming from four blocks away.

When I was 8 years old my dad bought brand new 1966 Pontiac Catalina. That car was huge! We had room to take the whole neighborhood for a drive. I fondly remember our annual road trips to the beach. The back seat was so big we kids could sit without touching each other.

My mother had a ‘69 Lincoln Mark III.What a piece of junk.Even back then I knew it was cr@p.

I used to chauffeur my elderly aunt around in her ‘65 Sedan de Ville. It was a land yacht—noiseless and smooth ride. Not exactly built for hairpin turns or precise steering, it still was so cushy and quiet that it was easy to exceed the speed limit. My family finally had to take the keys away from her when she was 85 with Mr. Magoo vision. We didn’t want her to kill herself or anybody else with that battleship.

I had a 1973 Ford LTD 429 in the late 1980’s. It was a speedster but also a slurper.
To: Phillyred
I remember when Lincoln changed their styling radically away from the huge boat. The traditional Lincoln buys were totally mystified by the lack of an aircraft carrier landing deck for a hood.
To: frithguild
in my small town here we have a guy with a late 60s convertible Caddy. Black, white top in excellent condition. It’s drool worthy.
That green one you posted would be a blast to own.

‘69 and ‘70 429s were the hottest things on the road, but then they dropped the compression ratio, and instantly they became gas guzzling turds.

These are my company cars. 2 - 1970 Cadillac Eldorados and 2- 1970 Cadillac Sedan deVilles.
Red Badger is correct. The 1970 Eldo is FWD (500 Cu in, 10.1:1 compression ratio)
