I’ve been threatening to clean the rug for six months and finally got it done. I have to go over it again, but I need more cleaner. I’ll have to get it at the Dollar Tree on Friday.

I’m hungry, but there isn’t much to choose from.

I hope you feel better. It’s not nice to feel ill when one has to be confined with testosterone-filled rooms. That stuff makes it difficult to breathe properly!

I’m having hot flashes and feeling like my neck and head are in a vise.

Maybe I’ll mop the kitchen: it couldn’t possibly make me feel worse.

I spent the first part of the morning shampooing the rug ..

Gotta be Dark's fault..

I first read this as "shampooing the dog.."

Not only does he cause typbows, but lysdexic reading too..

I need to go bury some tulip bulbs.

..or something.

I replied to your post and hit the wrong key, and deleted the entire thread! GAH!

I quit calling them hot flashes a long time ago. I now call them “power surges.” Sinus headache? Poor Fluffy! Rub Vick’s on your forehead and cheekbones.

While I was rearranging the freezer, I found some chicken wings, but I think they have freezer burn. *sigh* They will have to do, though. I need the protein.

Maybe I have enough lettuce for a salad, too. :o]

Since you’re a bulb guy, how do I prepare iris plants for fall? It seems my dad used to cut them back, but how far?

And yes, it is Darks’ fault!

"I just had an egg and half a banana, but I don’t think it will hold me for long. Still..."

Still, it makes more sense than a banana and half an egg.

I always picture squirrels as farmers, complete with overalls, straw hats, and flannel shirts.

I see them burying acorns, and they are very proficient at it. Although I’ve never seen an actual burial detail for when one of their own loses the traffic roulette game.

I wonder if I could work up a trade deal, selling them shovels and pitchforks? Hmm. Probably not worth the trouble; they’d likely try to pay me in acorns. I’ve got enough of them already.

An egg and half a banana...

Now processing imagery of ‘Face being held in custody by same.

I find that I am in agreement as to your assessment that they would not be able to hold you for long.

Banana emerges blackened, and very bruised, having lost much of its appeal.

Egg fares worse; bits of shell everywhere, sticky mess... very bad juju for Egg.

But, speaking of eggs...

...do eggs from African chickens have whites?

It's like this...

My grandmother, who had herds of iris (or whatever the official term for a lot of 'em is) used to cut them leaving maybe 3 inches of stalkleafthings above ground. I on the other hand just leave them alone and clear off the dead/dried remains in the spring. I figure that if there's still some green left, it can still feed the bulb, and with the winters we get the bulbs (or, since we're talking iris, tubers..;-) need all they can get.

Last time we planted tulips here, Mrs. NoC went out the next day and found every single one dug up with only a brown husk remaining. It was then that she decided it was OK for me to kill off the resident rat-with-good-pr critters (a.k.a. chipmunks). We haven't tried planting any more of them for five or so years. Since our resident feline critters seem to have vastly decreased the size of the stripped rat population I got brave this year. We'll see how many I planted make an appearance next spring..

Especially if by some accident of nature a flame were to encroach on the space between the can and the yellow jacket...

Although there probably some bughuggers who would object to waspthing flambé.

And invent a reason to have the flambé-er locked up.

How'd a squirrel get in this?
