A prayer request

I have a prayer request. I am having cancer surgery on Sept 16. Less than two weeks away. I'm having a mastectomy, with reconstruction. It all gets done (or at least started) on the table. Please pray for my fear, which is usually at the manageable level. And that I make it through surgery. I'll be in the hospital for one day. I opted to stay with my surgical oncologist that operated on me two years ago (cancer then too) for many reasons, one being he's THE breast cancer surgeon in Middle GA. Trouble is, after I was diagnosed, I've moved and he's now a bit more than an hour away. Still, I need to stay with him. I just couldn't trust anyone else. Also there's an excellent, skilled plastic surgeon down there that I will have. I don't know how I'll get back and forth afterwards, for the further work on reconstruction, but I will just have to find a way. Thank you for your prayers, my FRiends Shimmer

I pray that all goes well for you. My wife has gone through this twice with no problems. When she first was diagnosed and operated on in 1996, it was quite an ordeal. The second time, it was 2009, and she breezed right through it. They've made great advances in this type of surgery.
Remember not to worry if you don't sleep well the night before. You don't have to do anything the day of the surgery!

Yes, you’re right, it’s more apprehension. I’ll use that word from now on. But I’m doing pretty well at letting God handle it. I just have these moments. I’m alone and I just wish to God that I had someone to stay with me, someone to care and tell me it will be ok. Even if I want to hear it 100 times.
