I have a prayer request. I am having cancer surgery on Sept 16. Less than two weeks away. I'm having a mastectomy, with reconstruction. It all gets done (or at least started) on the table. Please pray for my fear, which is usually at the manageable level. And that I make it through surgery. I'll be in the hospital for one day. I opted to stay with my surgical oncologist that operated on me two years ago (cancer then too) for many reasons, one being he's THE breast cancer surgeon in Middle GA. Trouble is, after I was diagnosed, I've moved and he's now a bit more than an hour away. Still, I need to stay with him. I just couldn't trust anyone else. Also there's an excellent, skilled plastic surgeon down there that I will have. I don't know how I'll get back and forth afterwards, for the further work on reconstruction, but I will just have to find a way. Thank you for your prayers, my FRiends Shimmer

They still want me to have chemo. It’s all a big mess. but at least it hasn’t spread all over.
How long will you have to do it? Do you know yet? (Freepmail me if you’d rather).
I met with the oncologist today, he’s going to get back with me in a week or so. He isn’t positive what chemo meds to use. I had ACT the first time two years ago. I can’t do that again, the dr agrees, it nearly did me in last time. I can’t do it again.
He’s going to check with other drs about his opinion on what to give me, plus I still have the two drain tubes from surgery. Can’t get them out until they are draining 25 cc or less, and i’m still at 80 cc or more. (each) Then there’s plastic surgery...which to do first? uuuggghhhhhh

Wish I could give you some advice that might mean something, my friend. I’ll be praying that God will direct you and give you the strength to get through this, once and for all.

I had a good ‘cancer scare’ myself this week. I’m younger, but have smoked longer than I should have.(I suppose 1 day meets that qualification)
Earlier this week, I was coughing up a little blood along with the rest of the crap that smokers hack up first thing in the mornings. Was absolutely terrified. I had a chest CT with Contrast today, and Lungs/Pulmonary system looked all good. I was literally shaking when I was getting the report. Regardless, I’m accepting this as a warning, and DEFINITELY quitting smoking. LOL!!!
I can think of much better ways to go out than Cancer.(as long as I don’t void my life insurance)
