Several people in my area have noted that their pets are acting weird. The behavior usually amounts to staring out windows and doors whining and shivering and hiding under tables and other furniture etc. .
Or if they are outside they badly want inside even though they never do much any other time.
They also keep tails tucked and sort of slink around like they are in distress.
This is not one or two people but my count has over 20 different households within a ten mile radius that have pets acting in the same way for about 3 days now.
My dog can not seem to settle down and wants to be as close as he can get to me and the Missus. Some thought it is the festival in town but it just set up Yesterday and the behavior has been going on longer than that. And we had no such behavior last year reported.
We are all at a loss and the local vet has no idea but he tells us dogs and cats can sense stuff humans can't.
A friend tells me his cat's breath smells like cat food...
go figure...
I never knew that. I'm allergic cats and dogs.
You might relate that to the dog owner on this thread...if you haven't already.
no livestock reports... well, that I know of...
OMG!! (I can’t find the OMG stick people to post).
Not sure what is going on with your pets. I think I’m just gonna get in bed and pull the sheets over my head. Please ping me when the internet comes back up.
None that we know of so far...
IIRC, the larger quake of 1812 was felt all the way to Boston, where it rang church bells. The impact is greater because of the soil and ground structures etc in the Central USA.
Some think that sinkholes are an indication of future quakes. Had any sinkholes anywhere in Ohio recently?
Any how it will be a major problem, because so much transportation and pipelines go right through the New Madrid Fault zone. It is more active then many of the more famous fault lines in for example California, but the same size quake in Missouri will be felt further away.
Such is very rare here but it has happened...
LOL
Where I live there are no thunderstorms.
But I did live in Mexico City for two years (long ago) and their thunderstorms were BODACIOUS! Since Mexico City is 7400 high, the thunderstorms seemed like they were right outside the windows. Yikes.
Too much smog there for ANY bugs to survive.
By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes,,,,
priceless... no doubt on the southern border
My animals ususa;;y act up just before either an earthquake or a big rain storm
I have a rat terrier which is like that in that he wants in immediately after being let out to take care of business.
On the other hand, my daughters Yorkie-poo hasn’t the sense to come back in unless we go out after him and this is after he was attacked by a coyote a year ago.
The only things which saved him were the fact that he was tied up to a long leash and my wife heard the commotion when the coyote grabbed him and was there to immediately scare the coyote off.
There’s a bunch of videos documenting something akin to what you have heard. It’s been going on around the world.
Look up strange sounds around the world. Or some variation thereof. Interesting.

Oh, I would never give anything to my Rufus before getting our Vet’s approval!
I can’t take anything above the 3mg. The 5mg DOES give me amazingly intense dreams. Nope. Not going there ever again. Threw that bottle away. :)
