A Christian couple fined $13,000 for refusing to host a lesbian wedding on their New York farm has decided to close the venue rather than violate their religious beliefs.
Cynthia and Robert Gifford decided not to host ceremonies anymore, other than those already scheduled, Alliance Defending Freedom attorney James Trainor told The Blaze. Since the order essentially compelled them to do all ceremonies or none at all, they have chosen the latter in order to stay true to their religious convictions, even though it will likely hurt their business in the short run, he said

Instead of taking things underground, I would suggest a legal confrontation with someone besides shopped judges.
And working at the state legislature to clarify the law.
I don't like sneaking around like a coward to cheat my way to what is right.
I like a direct approach.
I'm sure you've noticed that. Shyness is not a virtue for me.
Be loud, be proud. Don't cower.

If a marriage were a legal right, no license would be required.
It isn’t absolute, the churches lay it out. You can’t marry your close family, you can’t marry the same sex, you can’t marry animals, you can’t marry inanimate objects.
The state has no legitimate role in marriage, they are simply wedging their way in to exact control. A legal marriage invites the DHHS and the courts into your lives.
With Holy Matrimony, there is no “sneaking around”...the marriage is done before God, and the rules of man are secondary.
Who issued a license to Adam and Eve?
It is a right.
States and churches may have licensed it.
But marriage is only between one man and one woman. That's been the definition since antiquity.

The word would get out, preachers would recommend them, and life could continue. (donations would be accepted of course.)
This is what I call sneaking around like a coward.
Be loud. Be proud. Be arrogant.
But don't sneak. Take the fight to them.

Meanwhile, Jews and Christians are ......
It's easier for some to tell government to get stuffed, knowing the possible consequences.
It's not like they can kill me more than once, and they can't eat me. I'm all gristle.

Welcome to the 1964 Civil Rights act in action.
That is wisdom. Wise as serpents, harmless as doves
Why do you think the government can tell businesses and clubs they must serve everyone, no smoking, etc etc etc.
Do you know what a “public place” is?
Here, I’ll tell you:
“Public place” means any enclosed indoor area used by the general public or serving as a place of work containing two hundred fifty or more square feet of floor space, including, but not limited to, all restaurants with a seating capacity greater than fifty, all retail stores, lobbies and malls, offices, including waiting rooms, and other commercial establishments; public conveyances with departures, travel, and destination entirely within this state; educational facilities; hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other health care and medical facilities; and auditoriums, elevators, theaters, libraries, art museums, concert halls, indoor arenas, and meeting rooms.
>> Be loud. Be proud. Be arrogant...But don’t sneak. Take the fight to them.<<
Fight that.
Yes, I know what a public place is.
Federal government can't tell business squat. They don't have a mandate to. State governments might. And that can be addressed.
But it has to go to the right level, and it has to have a rational plan of attack.
Arm waving about rights doesn't cut it. But it can help to distract and waste their money.

It takes gumption, and not sneaking around, trying to get around their limits.
And time, and money, and effort.
Sometimes, all it takes is a middle finger and doing as you damn well please.
/johnny
You’ll need to look up “public places” in your own state’s statutes to find the applicable definition, but I’ll bet your fight is already lost.
That is how the queer mafia is assaulting these private businesses.
As far as I’m concerned, if somebody has a deed, and is paying taxes on a piece of property....it IS NOT a public place. And if the government want to call it a “public accommodation” they should damn straight make it tax exempt.
On the other hand, any government owned building or open space, or entity that is government subsidized IS a public place.
But that’s not the way it is.
And what I suggested (making it be unquestionably private) IS NOT “sneaking around” it’s doing what you damn well please on your own private property.
Only for a wuss.
If it's a state thing, you can sit up there in the state capitol building and buttonhole the folks that make those laws.
They can be changed.
We're doing it here in Texas.
It's boring work, with no renumeration, but it can be done.
You want to 'back-door' the situation. I seek to confront it head on, damn the government (State or Federal) and let the chips fall where they may.
Not a solution for those seeking a comfortable retirement.
And that generally decides things.

I may try that or suggest that here locally.

Maybe I should use a different word than Reichstag. To me, it is not about Germany. It simply means any government manufactured incident, that lets the government think they can do anything. It could be an economic collapse, a whole bunch of Sandy Hooks. It could be anything. The government is probably looking for an incident(s) to try to take all the weapons away. How successful they will be, and how fiercely the people resist them, is another issue. The government will never stop trying to disarm the people. We just need to keep the government at bay, as far into the future as possible.
How far down?
“Whatever happened to the signs which read:
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE
?????”
Those signs were BS since the Civil Rights Act. That eliminated the right of business owners to refuse service to racial/religious minorities. Nobody owns a business anymore, you are just allowed to have one by the government as long as you follow the rules.
The Supreme Court established marriage as a right in Loving vs Virginia. I agree with the ruling (as does anyone else who is not a member of KKK or black panthers). Redefinition of marriage is another story.
Reliance on the laws of man to define an institution of God is as foolish as anything can get.
