Although Jennes Christian Nelson, Jr. was not a FReeper, I hope you will join me in giving him a spiritual send off.
Jennes (JC) was born in 1927 and passed into Heaven on August 20th, 2014. He was the father of my oldest brother-in-law (we grew up with him and his sisters).
At 17, as soon as he graduated high school in 1944, JC enlisted in the Army Air Corps as an Air Cadet during WWII. He served with forces in the Philippines for two years, finishing with the Reserves in 1948 ( I do not know what his rank was).
He was a sweet man, and although I hadn't seen him in several years, I stayed in touch through one of his daughters, with whom I grew up (besties/same age/two months apart). He was a great family man and I know his family will miss him terribly.
I don't know the proper phrase for sending off of an Army Air Corps personnel, so I will say this: "At ease JC Nelson, Jr. Job well done."
Rejoicing that he is with his Savior; but praying for your and the family’s comfort at his loss.
What a wonderful post. I didn’t get an impression of sadness but instead of appeciation of just how good and decent Mr. Nelson was. Veteran, Husband, Father.
My own dad was an Army Air Corps vet, who was getting “combed out” of his ground unit to be reassigned to a rifle company when they dropped the bombs on Japan.
These were the guys who were my teachers, Little League coaches, neighbors and dads of my friends. They are missed, as is the the world they made.
My gratitude to JC Nelson for his service to our country.
Condolences to all who loved him, beachy.
Wonderful pictures.
Condolences to you and the families affected.

Thank you for joining us. Gratitude to your dad as well.
He was suffering these last months with cancer so it was a welcomed release. His family will always remember what a sweet, loving father/grandfather/great-multiplied they had.
