Benghazi: When America Switched Sides In The War On Terror And Armed Al-Qaida
Daily Caller ^ | 08/17/2014 | Ginni Thomas

Posted on 08/17/2014 7:21:25 PM PDT by Rusty0604

The Center for Security Policy’s Vice President for Research and Analysis, Clare Lopez, says in this exclusive video interview with The Daily Caller that very few have seemed to care that America switched sides in the global war on terror when President Obama deposed an erstwhile ally in the Middle East and provided weapons to al-Qaida and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Focusing on this under-reported, critical shift in American foreign policy, Clare Lopez discusses how an American ambassador and others were killed in Benghazi on the anniversary of 9/11 because the Obama administration decided to promote and defend their narrative that “al-Qaida was on the run,” even as we were outright arming militants affiliated with the terrorist group.

To her, the American decision to overthrow the head of a sovereign government, Muammar al-Gaddafi, and to instead support al-Qaida and the Muslim Brotherhood laid the important framework for a resurgence of global jihad.

Lopez says when we supported the local Islamic forces, America flipped in the global war on terror and we, the U.S. government, turned on our erstwhile ally and provided funding, backing, intelligence, our participation in a NATO effort and weapons for rebel forces.

“We facilitated the flow of weapons to the Gaddafi opposition, and we knew the opposition was dominated by al-Qaida. It was led by the Muslim Brotherhood and the fighting militia was dominated by al-Qaida. That’s who we helped,” she explained.

Lopez ends by bringing viewers back to the fall of 2012. When the reality of the Benghazi attack came to light due to Judicial Watch’s “smoking gun email,” we now know the Obama administration scurried to promote a narrative that did not challenge the President’s reelection mantra “Osama bin Laden is dead and al-Qaida is on the run.”

Chairman Trey Gowdy understands that his drip - Drip - - DRIP investigation style of the entire 2012 Benghazi Massacre is a very effective tool against the sound-bite style of “not a smidgen of corruption,” Democrat Political Machine of Reid, Pelosi and Obama.

Gowdy’s strategy may well prove to be the best documentation yet of why Democrats are unsuited to be in leadership positions in the US Federal Government.

After all, the same Democrats who were responsible for their decisions, or lack thereof, with respect to Benghazi also have decision ties to the NSA, IRS, and EPA Democrat policy decisions.

Thus, Chairman Gowdy can potentially document the vast Democrat connections that tie together what has made the Obama Administration the most destructive force so popular with the Democrat Politicians in the US Senate and House of Representatives since January, 2009.

Chairman Gowdy is thus putting himself in position to be the deciding Republican Politician as to the future defeat of Democrats in the 2016 National Election.

While other Republican Politicians and pundits wring their hands in fear of what the Media will say about them, and fretfully hope to win short term battles by narrowly gaining control of the US Senate, Trey Gowdy seems to be more interested in winning the WAR against the entire ruling Democrat Political Machine.

The Republicans may squeak by with a narrow 2014 Election victory, but 2016 could well be the year that the Democrat Party receives its much deserved, landslide defeat.

Lopez is a former CIA operative/analyst. She is right about Benghazi.

She can see right through the Obama smoke and mirrors, and whats more, informs the public about it.

I read everthing Lopez writes.

Reagan was all about foreign intervention, i.e. Bombing Libya 1986, Bombing Iran 1988, sending arms and advisers to Afghanistan to fight the Soviets, over throwing the government in Nicaragua, El Salvador, invasion of Grenada, assisting Honduras.

It was under Reagan where you had near unprecedented peace time defense spending and programs like a national missile defense shield (SDI), or the stationing of GLCMs in Europe were conceived.

Reagan was anything but a pacifist. The difference is that when he played, he played to win and he chose his battles wisely. Everything he did was tied into a greater strategy, and while he often spoke in a very simple plain folk way, there was actually a sound calculus driving his decision making, which often was highly unpopular at the time! Reagan was ridiculed as some “cowboy” and idiot actor, but he was actually very quick on his feet, making few of the gaffs you see coming from the amateur Obama.

Obama is fighting a battle for public opinion, always doing what seems most politically expedient in that moment, even if this is a strategic blunder, i.e. leaving Iraq prematurely and leaving no stabilization force behind. Obama is an ideologue, a naive provincially minded race baiter that rose to the office of President with a resume thinner than some of the bloggers on this site. Obama was a man with no executive, military, law enforcement, business, economic, foreign affairs, staff or intelligence experience. He became this nations chief executive, supported by a staff and running the nations intelligence, defense, and federal law enforcement entities. The only things he feels comfortable talking about, is when he has some beer summit, or talks about some other race or social issue.

In WWII, the strategic errors of Hitler, invading Russia when he could have waited until next spring; not completely mobilizing for war until 1941; over riding his general staff on not condensing lines of communication on the east front (Russia is like a big funnel); over riding his generals with his hold ground at all cost thinking; over riding his generals with his idea of where the Western allied invasion would occur and not mobilizing German reserves in time even after we invaded...

Massive blunders, but there are are some commonalities between Hitler and Obama. Both were little men who really never developed a big picture view of things before thrust into power. Both were elected based on a rejection of current policies, based on symbolism, without consideration of actual experience, education, the entourage they will bring with them, character or values... Both were supported by the media of their time. Both were/are highly arrogant and full of themselves, very popular at least for a little while after seizing power and when things began to appear like they were getting better. Both did not listen to those that actually had a clue, whom they doubted and questioned or even pushed out of their positions for daring to oppose or suggest an error the leaders thinking. Both surrounded themselves with a click of same minded political hacks,”yes men.” Both made massive strategic mistakes, the consequences of which had a delayed reaction.

Obama, like Hitler is surely an intelligent man, but he came to power with a twisted world view, little experience and education as it pertains to his role, and a big head that made him override the wisdom of some of the senior leaders in his government bureaucracy. Issues like Ukraine aren't new, this was a known threat as early as when Obama took office in 08. The Russians violating arms treaties was known for years before the media latched onto it at least a little bit. The spill over of ISIS into Iraq was known as a threat as early as when the Syrian conflict started... Westerners fighting in the Middle East on the side of Islamic radicals was known as far back as 2004 when we picked some of them off in Iraq! Obama simply “chose” to make decisions based on his ideology and what appeared as popular to the masses at the time. Let me use a phrase that Obama should be familiar with, “The chickens have come home to roost.” Let's hope that this dufus doesn't do to much more damage before he is gone. The media can then praise him for eternity as the first black President, school history books will be able to write about how he healed the world, and maybe we can get someone that can actually lead as a Commander in Chief.

The Iranians freed the hostages taken on his first day in office. The Navy shut down an oil platform in the Gulf.He gave Gadhafi a stern warning and he stopped terrorism, (BTW he also changed his mind when GWB invaded Afghanistan and maintained control in Libya. So WHY did he had to go, if it was not to promote the muzzie brotherhood there. Remember Skank went there cackling “we came, we saw and he died.”) President Reagan made the Berlin Wall fall as well as the whole USSR. And made us prosperous and proud to be Americans. The Putt King and his Kenya administration run by a bunch traitor an inexperienced community amateurish organizers sat the Middle East on fire by two speeches, October 30th, 2008 and in Cairo. He instigated the Arab Spring setting the whole world into total chaos, and now promoting open borders for ragheads to come in. He is a muzzie himself promoting more and more beheadings!!!
