Today, between him and those homes, there are two forks in the trail, and he has to correctly choose both times.Him finding his way home even someone checking his collar are not the only options.
You've got a well cared for pet in an upscale neighborhood. The odds are very high the owners will be out there putting up posters and notices, and doing probably a lot more stuff than I can think of so they can get their big fella back home!

I love dogs...
Other animals too.
I have zero tolerance for those who’d intentionally harm or neglect them.

Wow.
If that was my dog, she’d by eating nothing but the finest cuts of beef for the rest of her life.

That Lab looks almost identical to our 12 year old Sarah, although she has some Dalmatian in her.

I just love this story. If I had one wish it would be to be like the woman who adopted him.

There is truly a special place in Hell for people who abandon a dog.

My thoughts exactly.. And might I add.. The previous owners must have taken darn good care of her if she walked 30 miles to get back to them!
The story doesn't tell us why they couldn't keep her.. Maybe the owner/owners were seniors in failing health.. Maybe they just couldn't afford to take care of her. It seems a routine vet visit is $200-$500 these days.
They must have been heartbroken having to give her up. I hope she gets personal attention in her new home and it isn't just a warehouse for abused animals. May Lady's remaining years are full of love and comfort.

Agreed..
Let us not forget Lady was Not abused..
The wealthy woman who adopted her and sent someone else to pick her up just happens to have a kennel for abused dogs.
I just hope it's the right place for Lady.

She looks a lot like my old Jack; except she’s a she and my Jacks a he.
I would have adopted her in half a heartbeat, she would fit right in with our pack.
Glad she got a good home, hopefully with lots of love.

Only regrets I have ever had with my older adoptee’s, is that they have to go to the Rainbow Bridge without me.
Breaks my heart every time; but I am so stupid, I just keep doing it.
My wife says I am just a sucker for “THAT LOOK”, guess she’s right.

I'm not on your ping list. I do the cats.
I enjoy your posts when I catch them.
I was a dog guy all of my life, but found 2 rescue cats a few years apart. I actually invited one in, one day, and she promptly made herself at home.
People abusing animals should be hanged.
They need us, and we need them.

Did I say it was not her money, jackass? Don’t both answering, we both know I did not.

I just hope it’s the right place for Lady.
I wouldn’t worry too much about that. Ms. Rosburg has taken a personal interest in her and promised she’ll have as good a life as she can give her.
