Lumosity has been discredited as a training-the-brain instrument. But if you enjoy it, fine. It does no harm.

Just ‘cause I’m curious, how much does it cost?

Thanks

I have never tried it but either you are getting better or the your scores are going up to encourage you to play more.

I have not played on their site in 16 months and they have modified the baselines. My current LPI has been upgraded to 1439. This measurement represents the outcome of a 40 day intense training protocol. Information on their site suggests that most people take 90 days to overcome the learning curve challenges and then subsequently flatline in further training efforts.

Family member thought I should exercise my aging brain and signed me up. I couldn’t get past the first puzzle;) LOL!

However, I do score well on the free IQ tests. Check them out on the Internet for a reference point.

If you’re smart, you are already smart. No website is going to make you smart. It may help you learn puzzle-solving skills and pattern recognition, but intelligence is hereditary, and is ingrained by the age of 3. Fully 50% of the population is below average intelligence, and the only way to change your position on the intelligence continuum is for people who are stupider than you are to die off, which actually happens because stupid people do stupid things which often lead to death. Otherwise, Lumosity is entertainment, and somebody is just trying top make a buck from it. Treat it as entertainment, and you will be fine.

I started it in January of this year. My scores started in your ranges and then over a couple months about doubled and since then have flattened out.

They say that’s pretty typical.

I find that its a good way to keep tabs on myself. I run my own business that’s full of ups and downs. These little games helps me monitor myself and keep myself on track.

I look at Luminosity as one of the sites the NSA monitors as they try to sort us into all kinds of boxes. Some of those boxes (like High IQ) are marked ‘first to get rid of in a crisis’... You do know the government considers very intelligent people to be a threat to them, right?

Of course, that may be wrong and it's just a series of fun games and puzzles!
