On Fox News Friday, Geraldo Rivera got into it with former CIA official Michael Scheuer over newly surfaced recordings of former president Bill Clinton, in which he claims the day before 9/11 that he could have killed Osama bin Laden.
In the tapes, Clinton says the reason he didnt go in for the kill is that he would have had to destroy a little town called Kandahar in Afghanistan and kill 300 innocent women and children, and then I would have been no better than him (bin Laden).
Scheuer, identified as head of CIAs bin Laden unit 1995-1999, disputed Clintons recollection. He said the attack on bin Laden would have occurred in the middle of the night and it would have killed no one but Taliban people and Osama bin Laden and his crew.
Scheuer took a shot at Clinton, saying, if you looked up the word lie his face (Clintons) would be right next to it. He also claimed that he was fired from CBS after he bad mouthed Clinton.
Rivera was then brought in to discuss. He said Scheuer is mixing and conflating intelligence with his own ideological spin.
So, what you have here with this gentleman who was dismissed by CBS by his own admission, Rivera said, is an analysis on the military action. And then No. 2, he is spinning it for his own purposes.
What followed was a series of insults from Scheuer, who disparagingly called Rivera a magazine guy, a dummy and a clown.
To prevent duplication, please do not alter the published headline, thx.
Kind of insulting to clowns, magazines and dummies.
Clinton lies like a Muslim.
I watched Scheuer but turned the channel when they were bringing Rivers on.
Gerry Rivers simply has nothing of value to say.
So the “Expert” Whoraldo is attacking an intellegence officer who had assets on the ground because Whoraldo was embedded somewhere in the Sudan where Bin Laden wasn’t.
Anyone remember why Whoraldo was sent packing while over there? Bueller? Bueller?
Oh, yes that is correct. Whoraldo exposed classified Info.
He needs his nose broke again, harder!
Before you attack Geraldo, remember that he was the only journalist who uncovered the details of child rape and cannibalism going on the Superdome after black people didn't get enough water bottles. And he also uncovered the millions of dollars worth of treasure in Al Capone's vault.
He's a pretty serious journalist.
Scheuer went on to say that Kandahar had about 300,000 living there, not 300.
So it wasn’t as if the whole city would have been wiped out.
“Rivera a magazine guy, a dummy and a clown.”
Exihibit A !

The only way Clinton would have killed OBL is if Monica wanted his head on a platter.
“...president Bill Clinton, in which he claims the day before 9/11 that he could have killed Osama bin Laden.”
Sorry for picking nits, here but Bush was president “the day before 9/11.”
So Whorealdo would know more about CIA intelligence than a former CIA official? Talk about audacity.
That should be in running for post of the year!!
Whoreadlo seems to really get spun up whenever somebody calls out his man-crush, Bill Clinton, on anything. It’s like he believes he’s the head of Clinton’s Secret Service detail and jumps in front of perceived bullets to his credibility.
Michael Scheuer is hated on FR. Lot’s of history on that.
Who had these 9-10-2001 Clinton “tapes” and who kept quite about them until now?
FCC doesn’t regulate cable channels like Fox News.
It’s part of their “Fair and Balanced” approach to the news.
Throw in a couple of fools to make the news “balanced”?
Why doesn’t FNN try to report the news “Straight and Honest”?
Speaking of ideological twisting of facts—that’s all this guy does whenever he speaks. He’s a Marxist clown who tows the liberal line regardless of truth.
