Nigerian health authorities raced to stop the spread of Ebola on Saturday after a man sick with one of the worlds deadliest diseases brought it by plane to Lagos, Africas largest city with 21 million people.
The fact that the traveler from Liberia could board an international flight also raised new fears that other passengers could take the disease beyond Africa due to weak inspection of passengers and the fact Ebolas symptoms are similar to other diseases.
Officials in the country of Togo, where the sick mans flight had a stopover, also went on high alert after learning that Ebola could possibly have spread to a fifth country.
Screening people as they enter the country may help slow the spread of the disease, but it is no guarantee Ebola wont travel by airplane, according to Dr. Lance Plyler, who heads Ebola medical efforts in Liberia for aid organization Samaritans Purse.
Unfortunately the initial signs of Ebola imitate other diseases, like malaria or typhoid, he said.

Quarantine!
Should have done it for AIDS and it would not have spread.
But, No, have to be PC
Hussein Obama is inviting this in with our open borders.
One would want to think that State Dept would ban all planes from that area.
But nope, they won’t.
One suicide bio-bomber could do a lot of damage.
Cibola!
Bumpty-bump!
“Should have done it for AIDS and it would not have spread.”
Aids has not and will not spread beyond the male homo and the intravenous drug user population. Aids is spread through anal sex. Those who participate in that are at risk of aids. Even the part that is spread through needles indirectly is related to anal sex.
A quarantine wouldn’t have helped.

If we ever have one, I say we send them to Washington DC.
M-O-O-N that spells moon.
Should have locked down the first villages it was discovered in and let it burn itself out.
I was always under the impression that if an AIDS infected man slept with a straight woman the virus could be spread?
Shalom was right. A quarantine would have saved countless lives. Gay and intravenous drug users, plus anyone who slept with them. Women are more susceptible to receiving HIV from normal sex. A lot of women died because they slept with someone, sometimes their own husband!
Aids patients should have been quarantined.
Ebola could conceivably become one of the plagues of the apocalypse...especially if it were to mutate and become airborne.
It's a wonder there hasn't been a global pandemic yet, considering the numbers of people living in war zones, in unsanitary and crowded refugee camps, without their basic needs.

I treated some the first aids patients in the early 80s. You are absolutely correct.
The potential for the spread of Ebola is terrifying.
Having visions of mama Abigail, are you? LOL
Quarantine HIV/AIDS patients? Hell, the CDC tried closing the freaking bath houses and glory holes back around 1984 and there were riots up to and including burning police cars in front of city hall.
Just think, any infected person in Nigeria can get on a plane and be in the US before they’re even bleeding from their eyeballs.
Sweet dreams.
Any kind of blood transfer can spread the disease.
But the usual voluntary means is how the vast majority of cases happen.
Which has me questioning why some seem overly-sympathetic to people who catch AIDs this way when everyone knows the risks and the behavior is easily avoidable.
Not until a rocket lands on any US airport !!
Then they (Homeland INSECURITY )will shut down the entire USA airports .. and surrender !!
